Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
The mule and I did about a 300 mile round trip for breakfast today. Drove over to Baton Rouge to meet up with bunch of folks for breakfast and look/talk trucks. Left at 5 AM back home at 12:30. NO AC, I had inteneded to do work this afternoon when I got back, but when I got home and in the AC, that is all she wrote for me.
Here is a couple shots of the trucks that were there.

What does £131.00 buy you from WASP Performance?
I am very happy tonight. These have put a silly grin my face just thinking of them fitted. Need to still get and build the 2.5" pipe work and get some 3" flanges to step down to the 2.5" from the 3" cutouts. Did I mention Anti Social Thuggery?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Finally installed the HEI dist. And painted up valve cover... Still cleaning up and routing wiring but here's a few pics.
Only run this distributor for a few days but it could be the best $60 I've spent in a long time.

Once satisfied the nut is centered, finish by welding the other 2 small holes. I'm planning to post a DIY thread on my website very soon. It will have all the measurements plus some tips. One of the tips is to drill matching holes in the washer and then plug weld the washer in place. The weld will be stronger. Either way will work if the weld is done properly.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Welp,,, does 'on the trucks motor' count.
Taking the truck back to street and building a nice little pump gas hydraulic roller 383 for it. Has been a year since I pulled the big bullet out (in frustration) and took me 3 months to set up the valve springs (from those for the big solid roller in the 434 to these for this little hydraulic). Was just hard to retire the truck from racing I guess so took MONTHS to do a 4 hour job. but progress,, finally. should have the motor buttoned up this weekend, then get the truck back over here and start pulling the electronics and build a street friendly TH400

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
the wife got a new job, so the 63 went from driving only on sat and sun to 7 day a week duty!!
so since I have to drive it every day , I decided to fix that pesky fuel gauge... it has a no folding 73-87 seat in it , so I had to pull the whole seat- I pulled the sender out of a known working truck, and on the walk back to the garage I noticed that the float had gas in it... so I pull the sender out of the 63, gas in the float as well! I tried hooking both senders up, and moving them manually -both worked- so back out to the yard to look for a float... pulled the sender out of the crew cab tank and the float looked nice, I held it under water for a while and no air bubbles. so in it went attached to the og 63 good sender. worked for 4 hours and it was great! no longer the fear of running out!, and then on the ride home it started to sink so I went another week, but couldn't stand it any more , and pulled the seat again, this time pulling the float out of another "working" truck, this time it has lasted 3 days! so I think I am out of the woods. on a sad note both the "rust free" front fenders are starting to rust when I put them on 4 years ago I knocked a ton of dirt and dust out of the braces, so it was only a matter of time... not sure if I could have saved them, since the rust is coming through from the inside.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...20Distributors You could go with one of these. The only reason I would buy is because Summit really stands behind their product and if they fail they send you another no questions. I bought an Optima battery from them and it failed a little over a year and they sent me a new one because they have a 3 year replacement. I didn't have to send the old battery back. I actually took it down to a place that recycles them and they gave me $8 for it. The last Mallory dist that I bought from failed me from the start. I replaced the Guts with summits kit but yet to reinstall it.
