pics of an electrical fire from the battery shorting out internally ans starting my jacket on fire that was above the battery box behind the passengers seat. I had the front of the truck on jack stands in the garage and was lucky enough to put out the fire with a hose.

SEAMUS - They don't need any MORE rust free, good looking vehicles out in Cally. We need them on this side of the country!!

Way cool extended cab Chevy...! And while it fits in the timeline of 47-59, it's not a Chevy but was my '59 American LaFrance... I had her for quite a few years...

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

RTK: Glad to see you got your ride bakc together so quickly. I'm still rebuilding mine 8 years after I rearended a Ford Expedition.
Anyway, I'd appreciate any info on your center console - did you build it & if so, what parts did you use. If you bought it, what's it out of ?
Thanks.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Hey nvrdone I think the storage area of the console was from a 90's mustang. I then took some sheet metal and bent it to fit around the front of the storage compartment and attached it with some screws. I recovered the whole console and used a piece of aluminum for the cup holders that I purchased from a boat parts store. I hope this helps. It took a while to find a console narrow enough to fit between the seats

Our 59 just before it was shipped from MO to ME. We have had it for a week and work will begin soon, hopefully end up looking as good as the trucks we have seen on here.

All steel... Front surround & rad. cover were all welded as was the rear tailgate.
Family owned shop in SW Minnesota with real high quality builds. Great people.
