Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

First off, we want to thank each and all of you for your thoughts and prayers!
Mrs Boss is doing much better... Thank the Lord for that! No physical cause so diagnosis is that meds issues along with stress caused the tailspin... At the end of this month we are off on a 2 week Roadtrip... So we can de-stress!!! My plan is to run into at least a couple of my Brotha's out here in Cybertruck world... The plan is to head toward the Smokies, drop into NC then off to FLA then home through GA, AL & MS...
Gotta be back in good ole Arkansaw for Clem's get-together!!!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Small update today… in between getting last minute details ready for our upcoming road trip… I was able to finally get some truck time in..

Got the roof of the cab and the windshield surround in primer, DA Sander died, got fed up with it and finished sanding about half the top by hand... I real dislike hand sanding areas that could be done with power tools… I also got the Grille support sanded, did I mention I really dislike sanding? Got the first coat of primer on the grille support and in the fun, I neglected to get a pic of it in primer...

Anyway, here are some pics of today's progress...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

I almost forgot… after getting the painting done, I grabbed the DA and put it on the work bench…Hooked air up, it tried to work and stopped...
Took a deep breath, removed the pad, started cleaning and inspecting… Hooked air and again, little movement then stopped. Unhooked air, spun by hand, and watched it spin and stop abruptly… looked it the air exhaust hole and found an allen head screw that had backed out and spotted wear marks… grabbed an allen wrench, tightened it up, and the DA came back to life...
Note to self… check that screw before, during, and after use...
That's all for now guys… in a week we are out and about for a couple of weeks and heading east seeing friends in Tennessee, N. Carolina, then south, gonna make it as far south as Key West and then up to just south of Tampa to check out Muscle Car City… then over to visit the wife's grandparents in Sebring, then up to Alabama to see some friends, then home, then the following Saturday will be Clem's Get-together...

Truck looks good! Glad the sander came back to life! I agree, sanding by hand is horrible.. Have fun and be safe on your trip. See you at Clem's.

Love that primer. It makes all the ugliness go away and gives you hope that it will be in paint some day. Glad to hear you fixed your tool. Most people would throw it in the trash and go buy another.
