Re: Die-cast 67-72
As far as glue, on the last few models I build I used 100% Super Glue. Got to be careful with it though as it tends to fog up chrome plating and the windows. The regular Testors glue from the orange tube seems to just turn brittle after 5 years or so. The main problem with Super Glue, is once you stick something together you are pretty much committed. Super Glued models are also hard to take apart and restore years later.
I have seen that Model Masters in the square tube. I'll have to give that a try next time. Hey Chuck, what is that 4-5-6 4x4 on the TV? Is that a modified Maisto '64 C10 RC truck? Nice collection you got there.

Re: Die-cast 67-72
That's a Revell 66 I think. I just went crazy with that truck. 5 ton axles 48 inch tundra tires, injected big block, twin T cases...

Re: Die-cast 67-72
DirtyLarry.....Thanks and your white towtruck looks great as well. I have that bed as well and will be building one with it soon. Your yellow blazer looks great too.
454_72_4X4.........The suburban and the 4 door I did not make. I got them off e-bay. I do cast several parts for these trucks for myself and I do sell to others on here and e-bay. I will at some point correct both the sub an 4 door and make molds of them but it will be a ways away as the cost to make the mold just for the sub would be well over $200 |

Forgive my dumbness...but what do ya have to correct on the sub and 4 door? They look pretty good, (to my untrained eye). Don't wanna compete with ya, but what do ya search for on ebay for these bodies? (the 4 door mostly)

Re: Die-cast 67-72
Just thought i would share a pic of our newest die-cast. I went to see my old buddy who manages a discount tire in the next town over. I had both my sons in tow. while we were waiting to have my tires rotated and balanced, we were BS'in etc. about that time my 2 yo spotted a poster hanging from the ceiling and pointed, said RACE CAR. My buddy said i have a race car for you, he went to his office and returned with this to give to my 2 yo, i could see the ENVY in my 15 yo at that time. it is sitting safely on a shelf at this time...

Re: Die-cast 67-72
That is a cool truck Chuck. I don’t recall ever seeing that big 66 model kit before. I had a 1/16 scale ’76 Stepside 4x4 as a kid and did a poor job of building only to later throw it away. Wish I still had it or could find another. This big ’66 would be cool to have too.

Re: Die-cast 67-72
454_72_4X4........The Sub has incorrect tail lights. They made it with regular pickup tail lights, the interior is crude as well as the tailgate. Front and rear side markers are different.
The 4 door has a bad seam in the headliner, not a big fan of the thin strip between the front and back door, again crude interior and bad frame so I taking care of that now and recasting a short bed fram that I make into a 4 door shortbed frame. To find them I just type in RESIN in the search, them select model kit, then automotive. Usually about 10 -15 pages. |

Re: Die-cast 67-72
Thanks ratpack! I'll try that. I just searched for "model car kit" last night and came up with about 20 pages of stuff. Found alot of interesting models though.
I think that 66 is a normal 1/24 scale? Just judging from the pic of it on the tv, and it kinda seems like the body of it is close to the same size as the other on the desk. ??? could be wrong and blind too though... LOL

Re: Die-cast 67-72
These models are comin`on strong here and I love`m all.Seeing the `60 &`66 reminded me my son and I have two models we were building before he lost interest.Or,more like he was introduced to Warhammers and got totally into doing those characters.Although I`m disappointed he didn`t follow my footstep,he does an amazing job detail painting these tiny things.Other older guys have him paint them for them.
So,he was building the`60 and was his first shot a spraying a body.He did great with the silver base/deep purple Boyd`s(Testor) paint and that was about as far as it went.I was building a`50 is a`50s mild custom theme.I want to dig the`50 out and get on it now. We`ll see what time allows...

Re: Die-cast 67-72
454_72_4X4.......... If you just type in "model kit" in your search first, then select "models, kits" you will get a bigger selection. After you do this then you can choose what kinds of kits again in the left hand collum but you can get even more detailed of a search if you leave the words "model, kits" on the top right collum them you can typr in truck, van, bus, trailer, ect and it will bring up the models that match that search.

Re: Die-cast 67-72
454_72_4X4 To find that little 1972 model kit with the camper that he has just type in "mini lindy" in your search of model kits. thats the brand that most people have them under. Not all of them have the camper.

Re: Die-cast 67-72
The 69s can be found on ebay for around $100 It was only made in that year so very few around. I make resin copies of the 69 chevy grill along with the 70 chevy grill in 1/25 scale.
