It's rained on it twice the morning after I put in on.

But it's coming around slowly.
Going to have to paint the roof soon..

I didn’t know that. Yeah mine was just blue cloth. The boards are all warped anyway so may try the board/cloth pre assembled headliner.

The cardboard was sagging on mine too. I dampened the top side of it and layed a few paver blocks on it in the sun. Sag came out but most likely will return

I drove mine yesterday, I think it developed a vacuum leak. Have to work on that. Otherwise she is doing well.

Cleaned up the 4x4 fan shroud I bought from CUSTOM/10. I used Gunk, de-greaser and a power washer, being careful to not mar the factory finish. Will be nice when installed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Finally broke down and removed all the heater and controls. I’ll probably be in the hospital due to the hantavirus with all the mouse stuff in there. The outer box was completely full of leaves, acorns, and dirt dauber nests. Good news was the fan motor worked after knocking a pound of mud nests off the wheel. Bad news is the outer box is pretty much shot. Lower left corner is broken and the metal area between the fan and firewall is rusted gone.

Replaced all the vacuum hoses, and carb fuel filter. Took it for a test drive and eliminated the rough idle while stopped in drive.

I’m a big fan of fixing vacuum leaks, #1 pet peeve when the carb signal gets altered!

I just looked at mine from my garage chair today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Today I started the process of fixing the weep hole leak (when parking uphill) from my transmission. The vent tube up above is clear so I pulled the drive shaft And tail housing. From photos I’ve seen I expected to see some sort of inner seal or o ring but nothing present or much of a groove for one where the splines Start. I’m not even sure if mechanically that would seal the driveshaft yoke.

Spent the day at the media blaster. Of course no rain in the forecast yet I was dodging drops on the way back to the shop.

Got the bearing surfaces cleaned up on my driveshaft and yoke. Installed the tailhousing back on and waiting for new Spicer joints to arrive today. Should have a non leaking yoke now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Today I am closing the door on my gear change project. Went from 3.07 to 4.11. Granny first gear used to have some value with my small travel trailer, but I'm afraid it is now rendered useless and starts in second gear will work fine. I will go from about 1700 rpm in fourth to a more reasonable 2400 rpm at 55 mph with my 33 inch tires.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Just stared at mine over the weekend to get an idea of what to tackle next. Wife got me a new set of body mounts for anniversary so that's on the list. Want to knock the front end out but waiting to order and get parts here first.

Did paint my old 5x12 utility trailer though. Not a great job but it is one color now.
