Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Congrats again for doing a quality "make over".
I bet most would be surprised by the amount of money you layed down to do these mods.
The RideTech suspension parts, RideTech air management with the leveling system, RideTech tubular a-arms and their PRICEY MuscleBar sway bar.
Then add 20" Billet Specialties billet wheels and steering wheel.
Almost forgot the 4-wheel disc brake mods.

You did your home work and spent your money ($$$) wisely.
The results are stunning!

100% for sure wheels and stance make up a truck/car or it can kill it..

Keith thanks for all your help as usual..I definetly spent a great chunk on $$$ this time around let alone in the whole truck since we started in 2008 and remember that 90% of all the labor was done in house by friends and I so I saved alot of $$ on labor..

I am still not done as I have many misc items that i want to replace just because of wear and not up to the standards of what i want to accomplish.

I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO MY BUDDY HARRY, JOHNNY AND RAUL WITHOUT THESE GUYS THIS TRUCK WOULD NOT HAD BEEN BUILT.

Hey Al,

Did you find the shank lugs? Also I am looking for a swb fleetside bed only for a 67-72. Let me know on the lugs and the bed when you get a chance. Also did you post pictures of your truck on Pro Touring?

Regards,

Perry

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Hey Al, Im curious about the wheel clearances on your fronts. Im talking to Perry about some Intros and Id love to hear some feedback from how much room you have with yours...

An Im amazed at the drastic change your truck has made! I know how you feel about how much was spent and the changes it gives you. I just bought a front dropmember and some rear goodies from Nate. All that money that nobody will be able to see! LOL

Keep up the good work

I can tell you that I have not driven The truck no more than going around the block because I have no exhaust and it is loud however I can turn from side to side almost aired out and there is no rubbing anywhere. The front size is 20x8.5 with 5.25bs on a 255-40-20 tire. I will be able to give full details once I get the exhaust done. I am with you eight there about money spent that nobody ever sees. Thank you for you compliments!!!!!

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

I wanted to share that Raul came over last night and we checked the front air lines and finally figured out what happened the night before with the one blown line. Seems that we left a little extra slack on the line and when I was playing with the suspension the line moved and touch the header while I was driving and of course it melted immediately . With what I did early in the morning it will be perfect. I feel better knowing that the hose did not get pinched anywhere now the hose does not have that extra inch to be able to touch again.

Awesome work Al.... that truck is killer and has me envious.

Love the new mods; as lolife99 said, you spent money but you spent it in all the right places. Quality parts and free service, what's not to like.

Can you get three pics for me? Air'd up, ride height, and laid out?

Al -- Ever thought about a white top on your truck? Want me to Photoshop it? I think it would be a subtle change (not that it needs it!! ) But ?? .. just sayin .. I noticed it has the trim on it already.

When i had the roof repainted I just went with black because when I bought it was black already. That idea kicked my butt for weeks while the firewall was being done and the inner part of the cab.
Since you offered I will take you up on that, would you photoshop it for me to get an idea?
Thank you!!!

Bryce I am shooting to take it to the muffler shop next week but both shops I use are both closed for the holiday so I have to wait to the first week of January.

Eric I know the feeling exactly do you have any idea how many times I have looked at your black truck it has to be easily couple of hundred times.

Nate I will do that tonight the pictures I have posted so far are all aired out ride height is about an inch higher and all the way up is about four inches higher. I will take some good shots and post them all....
Thanks for the compliment!!!!!!

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Al,... don't forget to get an alignment done.

I told my alignment guy I wanted it as LOW as possible.
The sad part,... it has to be a little higher in the front, than I like,... to get the front suspension to come into specs.
