Valarious...way ok! It is all about our passion for these trucks. And because of that I've met some great folks through here.
Thanks Shannon, glad you are back on yours. Thanks Brad, maybe this season we can catch a cruise in over in Champaign. Oh, and I have a hankering for a wagon now. I understand all the cool kids are getting them!  Jim, thanks for checking in and it was very good to talk with you too. We will meet up sometime! Hey Tim..TP Auto...are you doing ok? Today on my way to Indy for a meeting I saw this Burb. Had to check it out. It was on its way from Oklahoma to Indianapolis. Researching brakes now and starting to tire of exhaust shopping. Its always fun when you can combined work with car stuff/parts pick ups. I used to work for a company in IL and I hauled parts many times from MI to IL on my work travels. The best part was i got paid for mileage from the company and I made $ on sell crap. Win win win.

I'm doing fine. Been working on the house n yard this year. Pro paneled the porch. Filling in the walk way. An saving up for enough for pro panel to do the side of the trailer all the way around. Have pick up a couple of body's. 1 50 ford pu 2 29 dodge 4dr sedan Will NOt work on the autos till next year. Working to get the yard n house in good shape this year. T-P Auto  Tim |

Doug, it looks like you're going backwards...

Got in a little shop time this week end and closed in the end of the other tank bracket.
I think Joedoh was using the magnets that you can switch off, so I ordered a couple. They are pretty handy. |

Instead of making a hanger for the rear tank strap attachment, I drilled a hole and welded in a flanged nut. Actually, due to the bracket foot, a drill and bit wouldn't fit, so I made due with a die grinder set up.

Here is the general concept for the rear strap attachment. I will either use a locking nut to lock the bolt in or maybe a stud, locking nut at the top to hold the stud from turning and a nut on either side of the strap. Also need to make a square washer, I think, to give the strap a little more support where it rests on the bolt and washer.

Once the tank is removed this will be finish welded. Oh, the #10 sheet metal screw closing in the loop will be replaced with something appropriate. Making due with what was on hand for right now.
The straps are stock ones for a 67 to 68 Camaro and the contours didn't fit the Tanks tank. It was pretty easy to get them to fit with a little straightening and rebending. The cushions for the straps are in the box and I will come up with something to cushion the top between the tank and bracket instead of shop towels. |

Almost there. Still need to determine if this needs a forward tank stop or if the straps are sufficient to keep the tank from sliding forward.
Hope to get into that next week end. Month long tank install project...ugh. |

looks really nice. I too ordered up the magswitch. Got one from cyberwelder its much smaller than I anticipated, but I do like it. Thing is very powerful.
