Re: How about some pics of 47-59
yep yep. i was gonna put it on an s10. actually i got this far on the s10 swap before i did some research and bigger tires wouldnt really work all that well with a stock 4.3. much happier with the k2500 swap instead

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Ya the 4.3 would need too much spent on it to be useful with big tires, that's why i run a big block almost in everything. Torque rules.

Yes, easy. A good friend of mine has a Jeep on 38's with a 4bt and 5 speed who pulls a decent size camper around on the interstate getting around 20mpg.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thanks bluejeep, I am more familar with the 6 I know quite a few performance parts interchange. There are guys putting over 1000 hp to the ground with the 6bt and driving it home with close to 20mpg.
I know this has nothing to do with it but it is fun to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=...ture=endscreen |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I Flew north and got my truck about a week ago and set out on the nearly 700 miles to home. We bought it back in January and had a mate sort out a bunch of small issues, and replace the Chev 250 & manual box with a 350 and 700R4. Apart from the engine upgrade, we have also fitted seat belts and burst proof doorlocks.
Truck had to pass our "certification" system before it could legally go for a warrant of fitness and then become legal. Our truck has Jaguar from & rear suspension & steering. I can say the Jag steering setup is about the nicest I have ever driven in a hot rod, and they are dirt cheap to buy now. |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thats a 54' grille but the cab is from half of 47-53. I think this was either the first or second or maybe the only one I seen with this set up. I personally like it, cool little touch not many people would catch.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I suspect it was "recabbed" at some stage of its life with a later cab, as its actually registered here as a 48, but its the later 54/55 grill, and it doesnt have the popout vent on the LH side.
Down here, the 55 truck still had the two piece glass, tho by then you guys got the curved glass. Maybe its the time on the water or maybe we got our trucks from Canada, as we were part of the British Empire back then & anything with links to Britain got favourable treatment. Tail lights are 50 Pontiac repro ones on a fairly short rolled pan |

That GMC with the 90's bed is really nice. Last time I saw it was at classy chassis in Kennewick.
