I need to make a salvage run some time, too, but I'm scared I'll need something I toss.

Frostbyte might have a good point about the hard tubing going to your fuel pump. We've tried all sorts of methods for hard piping air lines for pneumatically operated control valves on process piping at the paper mill that typically is vibrating to some degree. They still way to often fatigued and failed. Now, we always install a foot or two of flexible hose to take the vibration, and haven't had any problems. You obviously wouldn't need a foot or two in this application, but a few inches of fuel hose there would probably suffice.

Getting closer to the 19th and 20th!!!

this is the second order I got from classci parts and it is the second time they were out and had to back order. That only tells me that their are a lot of guys and gals building the 67 thru 72 trucks.

They emailed me the next day saying all my parts were in and would be shipping shortly. I'm still waiting on shipping confirmation though. It's really not a huge rush since I'm out of town working. I need to work on my patience

Hey I like watching your project. A quick question about the fuel pump lines. Are they hard mounted to the the fuel pump? If they are they should have a flexible connection to the frame to allow the motor to flex else the lines will crack. Just looking out for you

I have them mounted to the frame several inches (12) back so I think that will be enough to allow the engine to flex it mussels.
but thanks for looking out for me. and they are alumumn and again they will flex a little.

So today was a hot day. 93 and I took shifts working on my patches. I installed the tie rods and boots today. I scratched the slenes and tie rods up a little. I will repaint them tomorrow. I also installed the last front brake line. I did not like the used line I had on the truck. It had two different size 0f fittings on each end. So off to the Advance Auto hang out and got a new line. Tomorrow I hope I can mount the fuel lines to the side rails. I was going to do it today but the second shift took off. (ME). So I went inside my shop and installed the new window crank on my window assembly. Waiting for the other one to arive. (back order). again.

Conventional wisdom might suggest that it isn't a good idea to hard plumb your fuel lines but it all depends on his setup, if he is using poly motor mounts they aren't going to flex as much as rubber, also if he leaves enough length for the line to absorb any flex to where it doesn't actually put any significant stress on the line between mounting points it will be fine.
I don't think he is going to be racing the truck anyway those days are over, since he isn't going to be stabbing the gas I doubt that engine will ever see over 3500 RPMs so it isn't going to be moving much.
If he was going to be beating on it I would agree with you guys.

That's not what I am implying at all, however you aren't going to be racing stoplight to stoplight every weekend either.
I still havent decided if I'm going to leave my fuel lines hard plumbed at this point I'm waiting to see their performance once the truck is driving to make my decision, I suggest you do the same.
I also think that you should increase the retainer distance from your fuel pump to 18 inches to give a little extra room for flexibility for now.

I am ahead of you. I am planning on on installing rubber lines on the pump. I just don't want anything to go wrong.

Today I had to go to the VA and dance with the red tape for my disability. But I think I am getting closer with them. Anyway it rained here today. Yes it is getting closer to the 19th and 20th for the fine tuning of the body work. I hoped I would have seen the big brown truck today. But a no show. I did get my third set of vent windows in. The vent windows had a small problem with the long support. I changed it out and They look real good. I seen them on the parts board and I just couldn't see them go for peanuts. I cleaned them up and will post them back on the board with a profit. I need to stop buying stuff on the parts board and just buy what I need. You know love is blind.

Installed the new fuel pump today. I distroyed the old pump that I had on the truck. By hard piping to fuel lines. Had to cut the compresstion fittings off so then it was to short to mount the black rubber lines. also I installed the clamps that holds the fuel lines to the side rails today.

I took the brake booster and MC off and got a can of hammered paint. It came out real nice. Went to three different stores to find a fitting. The one that fits in the rear of the OEM port valve. NAPA had it but it looked to buckey.11.00 auto zone did not have it. Advance auto 2.11 and it fit. Going to let the paint cure and then install the parts back on.
The brake pedal and benzel are for a 71/72 they want fit a 67/68. unless I switch to a 71/72 pads.

Haven't done very much in this last month. But on the 27 maybe i will get all my body work fine tuned. Then i should be ready for paint around the 1st of Aug.

Today I finshed my transmission lines they gave me a fit.
I installed the front clip back on the truck. Had to get my wife and the two boys (ages 7 & 9) to help me carry the front clip. But it worked.
I installed the brake booster and Master cly. Got to remove the booster again tomorrow I for the boot in the booster. But at least it want be hard to fix.
Attached the brake line to the master cly. Again the fittings gave me a hard time. Alignment issues
Installed the head light buckets. Classic Parts sent me the wrong adjustering screws. Ordered the right one's today 4.95 to ship 1.00 to buy 4 screws.
Installed the outer grill on the truck. really like the way it fits.
Not to bad of a day. Got a lot done on old patches.
