Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
wow , i have to say the wait mightve been worth while , shiny black shows any ripples flaws or dents left in the bodywork
i only hope that the polyester doors and nose fit straight out of the box as i will be hard to change the swage/ beltline and the gaps on those without possibly marring the stuff allready painted make sure the paint is fully cured before working on it and tape off all the stuff before fitting the big items like said doors and nose

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
This didn't take all these years for no reason. The glass doors are to be sold. The truck will have steel doors and vent glasses and roll up and down windows. It has a factory windshield and a lexan back glass. I wasn't happy with the way one of the doors fit so I got I used door and one new a/m door then wound up doing the rockers and cab corners ofer to get all the lines as close to perfect as possible. The doors have defiantly been fitted to the cab. The front end fits pretty well. Advanced Collision in Prattville painted the truck.

Glad to see it moving Kevin.. I do remember mine being down for over 1 year and you making a comment that you don't think you could make it through even that long. Look who has more patience than they originally thought.. It's hard though isn't it..

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Thanks to a few good friends the truck is up on Jack stands and the wheels and tires are off. The big wheels are being taken to another friend to have the tires removed. I plan to have the rear wheels polished. I have got to get all the bolt on parts off and taken to the powder coater.I hope to get some of this going before next week! I also need to figure out what to paint the cage and frame with.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Looks good, I like the contrast between the cage coating and the frame paint!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Please don't take this as bashing because I'm not. I would have boxed the front frame rails where the front tubes connect to get if extra support. As it is now the top of the frame rails will start to flex under power and in case of emergency won't offer the protection it should. Again, not bashing, love the truck.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
you could still make a crossbar with oversized plates on each end slide that between the rails and mount it through the holes in the chassis
on the other side , the flex /spring in the chassis might help soften the launch

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Personally I think the motor plate attaching to those tabs just in front of the front struts,,, and the mid plate probably within a foot of the A-pillar bars of the cage,,, what's left between isn't going to have much room for flex. A ProMod or Altered has much less frame forward of the cage,, and a lot more power. Not saying Kevin will be underpowered by any means, just that I don't think he's looking at 2500HP+
