Thanks Chad, it has been really hard without my father especially since he knows more about building a truck then I will ever know, but I'm trying my best. I only hope that he continues to get stronger and can help me put the truck together and help with all the finishing details after it is painted.

Thanks John, I feel I finally feel I have a solid direction I'm taking with the build. My father is getting better but I just wish he was able to help me continue to restore this truck. I know it's time that we both cherish.

I want to thank Nate for his great customer service. Looks like my motor mounts are the wrong ones and new ones are on the way. Should be an easy fix and I can breathe easy now

Yeah I'll be making the trip both Saturday and Sunday, hope to get the control arms painted and installed, get my brakes back on, shocks installed and a few other odds and ends done.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Got a little work done today. Painted up my Porterbuilt Control Arms and upper shafts. I decided to just scuff and clear the shafts to break up all the black. Then I removed the rear most crossmember and installed and painted the porterbuilt tubular crossmember. Tomorrow I plan to put my ball joints in and bolt on my control arms and reinstall my brakes.

Looks great!
Don't forget to paint the balljoints.
They rust like crazy after time.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Got the control arms, brakes and shocks bolted back on today. Still have to drill out the tie rod hole in the spindles before I install the rack n pinion. Also have to reinstall the sway bar. I'll get those done when I put the motor mounts in.

I also decided to try on one of my front wheels just to make sure it fits before I get the tires mounted. I'm glad I decided to keep them, they look awesome What do you guys think

Yep, don't forget that "balanced" part, it is very important... believe me!

One question, your frame rails don't need the notch for the steering rack?

I have the touring dropmember so no notches needed. Nate and I thought this would be the best way to go to give my BBC/th400 plenty of room. I'm crossing my fingers that it will lay out like Nate told me it would. I read your issue with the balancing, I wouldn't expect any less from Coys.

Love those wheels man - they're sick!! They look so good I didn't even notice the brake calipers.

Are you going to drill those holes in the spindles yourself? Whose spindles did you use?
