Re: My 52 GMC Build
Well We got the trans back in last night filld'er up and drove around the block. All is good, the trans shop want's me to bring it over asap so they can do some pressure and flow tests. Then we are GTG.
Friday we are going to a weekend car show called "Jalopy jam up" just north of Durham at a ghost town, 1.5hrs north of my house. The truck will be pulling our trailer up there. Live bands, old cars, should be fun.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
you should get award for wildest animal!!! I like how major disasters aren't getting you down, you just fix em and drive a trailer farther than most guys drive their trucks all year! keep it up.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks 99. If you let them get you down you should drive a Honda LOL. We are also driving the truck to North Carolina in October to go to the Goodguys show. Maybe we could get together on our way home?

Re: My 52 GMC Build
dang you are killing it. I'll have to get my trash outta the garage and inspected incase you come. I'v been such a looser with all my life projects, I haven't been driving my truck. I'll make it a point to get it inspected very soon. But let me know, I'm either 100 miles north of pittsburgh, or in pittsburgh parts of the week. If you cross my path, that would be awesome. I always wanted to take a looooong drive with my rig. Farthest I go is 2-3 hr trips.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Nice to hear it's back together. Transmission problems are a real PITA! My 68 Vette was/is plagued with that for about 4 race seasons. That trip to North Carolina will be very cool!

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Ya turned out pretty good
Thanks it sings right along . . . . . So last night I took the truck over to my trans shop and they did a cooler flow test and a pressure test. Both tests worked great so it has a clean bill of heath. Then I took him for a drive around the block and it chirped the duallys into second gear, he said yup it's shifting good. We are GOOD TO GO.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Well the truck ran great all weekend, pulled the trailer for 3 hrs there and back. Trans is all good.
The show was beyond great, the atmosphere, people, bands and venue where spot on. We all had a great time and are for sure going back again next year. In the main show it was for pre '64 traditional hot rods the way they where back then. Set in an old ghost town. There was lots of beautiful iron. One cool part was watching the old open header hot rods drive around and rev there motors.

That show looks like it was a really good time. Pretty cool location...was it a mining town at one time? Nice lines on the truck. And congrats for the 3 hour run!
