Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got the last item for my BBC conversion; the alternator plug. Just need to wire it in and I will be ready for a test fire on 4/16/2010

Yes they have been hard to find recently. I talked to Mooneyes they said they are getting more in stock in about a month. They also said that the metal flake wheels are going back into production and should have more of those in a few months.. So dont pay crazy prices on ebay! be patient..

well I got my big block installed in the 66, and just need to get the trans crossmember mounted, this weekend. Then it's time to swap the cab off the donor truck.

As long as you got P/S those are great but trying turning the wheels in a tight spot with that steering wheel without P/S and you'll look like Popeye after awhile.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

It was a nice weekend here in NJ so I am getting it ready for summer.rebuilding the front end with new stuff 2.5 drop spindles ,cut the springs (for now).pulled off control arms to sand blast and paint, new ball joints, sway bar bushings, tie rods ,inner and outers, new calipers ,pads ,rotors.I hope we have a nice weekend next week so I can start to put it back together again.need to pay for my spindles and see when they come in but it look's like I have a **** load of stuff to do before I'm ready for them.

Fellas,

Well this week end we finally got my Ole' One Bad Mamma Jamma '62 off the jack stands and blew off the dust and swatted some bats away....
We started to kill some cancer in a few areas.
Figured it would be easier to take the windshield out....
I will update my Build Thread soon..... But I worked 67 hours last week and probably do the same this week. Little money....little time....
Well here is what we did so far:
I will post a few for now ,cuz I'm wore slap out and tired.
Take a gander:

Thanks,
One Bad Mamma Jamma

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Nearly got the engine wiring harness completed. Everything under the hood is done now I just need to finish up the portion that runs under the dash to the PCM. I'll try to take pictures later this week. I also made mounts for the 95 camaro radiator and the new fuse and relay panel.

Took a load of grass clippings and tree branches to the dumps, giving me an excuse to wash the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

You have to slide the engine forward to get the valve cover off or is there enough room?

in my old truck i used the CPP/ Truck&Car shop mount kit in the stock location and did not have to do any modifications to the firewall. Also I ran full length headers and power steering too...only minor modification needed was a very very minor notch for the driver side primaries to clear the frame rail.

on another note, I ghetto stitched my seat vinyl with some duct tape and then laid a new wool blanket as the cover....pretty neat fix for the time being, plus side was it was all of $18 bucks and an hour of time.
