Re: My Facetruck thread.

Killer, I'm impressed that you include your entire family in your adventures. We have always included the kids in our lives.

K, when I mentioned bikes, I wasn't thinking about the mountain bikes so much. I am impressed with anybody that can negotiate those trails, at those altitudes.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I get the picture of who you meant. Those people need to get over themselves and stop expecting people to live to please 'them'. There was none of that last time I was there. Down to earth people who hung in there because it's so frikken nice and somewhat isolated being one road in or out, other than over the pass...when it's open.

Speaking of bikes. On the 4th of July I met my older son and his girl at The Barbara Fritchey Classic, AMA flat track racing, at The Great Frederick Fair grounds. This is a small purse race, so none of the big shots attend (or rarely), but it is the longest standing continuously run motorcycle race in the country. There are the grandstands or you can park yourself around the track and tailgate through the races. Never enjoyed eating cinders and dust as much as I have there. I split the wood extension ladder in two, spread them to each side, and put a small tarp across for shade. Two folding chairs in the bed, along with the cooler, and we were set. The charcoal grille was set up out front. We ended up at the same spot as a guy I know and his bunch of friends. Bruce is an old GM Truck guy, too. So it was one big happy group

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I need to stop jumping off of ladders and flopping onto my side. It's just not fun anymore. Still hurts after two weeks.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Yep, got careless and dumb for a minute. Made me think. Ribs keep reminding me.

I think it's great they have events like this in these times. Good old family fun celebrating old ways and good country living. I hope you can read it.

How many have things like this in your area? Small town America has many interesting festivals and such throughout the nation. Come to think of it, the Mt. Airy Fireman's carnival is going on this week and tonight is the parade. Fire houses from surrounding counties all send their pride & joys for a cruise up Main St. and over to the carnival grounds. It's a big one. I just saw where this is the 91st year. Golly! Check this out, skip to 1:75

Dude you are too old to be jumping and flopping. In spite of how young your mind thinks you are you won’t heal nearly as fast as you once did if you break something.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Noticeably better. Getting less painful but that's the hard part. Still needs to mend. It happened Friday two weeks ago tomorrow. Thursday a week ago, I went and pulled a steel garage entry door to replace the bottom sweep and reinstall. Had to cut away some caulk, clean, dry, re-caulk a stand up corner shower, too. I was thinking all this would be light enough work. I was wrong. Both were tough to do and after that I felt as bad as the day it happened. That's when I started really taking it easy. Monday I had both of my sons help me do a job. They did pretty much all the work.

Getting old ain't for sissies! Let your sons help. One of my sons tore down most of the old wall and built most of the new wall. Even with a back brace, I could hardly move the stuff. Take care of yourself!

Thanks. The worst time is when I lay in bed at first. I lay on my back but it still hurts till I settle in a while. Sneezing is still horrifying

Re: My Facetruck thread.

At least it doesn't hurt to laugh anymore. I was in town for a p/s pump and some groceries just before they shut the place down for the parade. It shuts the whole town down as far as getting from one end to the other as well as the bypass. The carnival grounds are on the other side of the state hiway

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Dang Tim , I missed that you fell off a ladder , hope you feel better soon . I flipped a 4 wheeler about 5 weeks a go and hit my knee on the corner of my shop while going over . Man do I wish I could go back and not do that . My knee still hurts like hell ,just like you said ,when I try to sleep it throbs like a tooth ache .

My hopes with that was to draw attention away from my license plate area. I guess it worked. And none wanted to be first on the seen with the other

(I think I meant to post that trip in the law breaking thread)

Tim, I hope the healing comes quick and complete. Today the Budweiser brewery had back yard bbq day. I took my girlfriend and my 7 year old grand daughter. We had a blast, my grand daughter got to meet my coworkers and got special treatment with the Clydesdales. It was an awesome day for the old guy
