Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Thanks, Chip! It's still coming together, slowly...
Today I dropped off that old 327 at the machine shop! Remember them Icon forged domes and Scat 6 inchers? This dude is slow, but does NICE work. I'm sure it'll be a few months before I get the call... "what were we doing with this thing again?". I've still been moving stuff in and last weekend I ripped the tub/shower and vanity out of that bathroom. That'll make room for some steel cabinets I have and some shelves I'm going to build. Also going to order up some 10 gauge sheet, broke to 24" with a 4" back splash and 2" edge for some work tops. Got a sweet B-day present! Wish I had this thing back in the day. I'll put it to use though!

Dude, what a saga. You had me at 327 and I proceeded to read all 39 pages. shop looks fantastic, I hope the house is going well. Hope for you to have the time, space, resources to get your trucks dialed in.

Nice. I will be running the same hub cap on my '65, but with a white wheel.

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Wouldn't you know it... Work has me on the road, probably not home until Thursday. I pulled the trigger on a pile of small parts (and some big stuff!). It's all shipped except for the instrument cluster and the bedwood strips and hardware.
I have not painted the outside. I'm a little concerned on how we broke it up. I'm wishing now that we had painted the whole outside of the cab. I think we can blend into the door jambs no sweat, but we should have had a hard line right under the chrome strip across the back of the cab. We're a little below that. Again, learning $hit the hard way! I dropped my short block parts off at the new-new-new machine shop last FEBRUARY. I'll need to rattle that cage again here soon. My parts list is getting pretty short! Thanks for looking in!

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Glad to see you here, Vic! Bought this awesome shop but it came with a $hitty little house. I have a pipe run out to the shop for network but still need to get that into the buildings. That's really limiting my web time! We've had hit-n-miss runs on the truck to get it to this point. I've stockpiled a bunch of new bits and have just about everything to put this little mouse together. I've been trying to snitch some Glyptal from a pal.
I've tried my best to follow your wagon build. Holy crap, man! You keep that dang bar soo high! That is some stellar work you do and you should be damned proud of that.

Really fun stuff just around the corner, John. Hands down, final assembly beats all the grunt work it took to reach this point. Looking forward to seeing it happen.

Thanks, everyone! We really look forward to getting past this part!
Sanding like crazy. Mostly Knucks but I put some hours into the hood.

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
So, we've been sanding and buffing and still have lots of that to do. It's not laser flat but it looks great. Taking a little break and doing some fun stuff! It's been a minute since this crank was snuggled in it's block! I have a lot more love to throw at this little mouse. It's going to be cool!

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
That part is buttoned. Sooner or later we'll have to get back to polishing all that paint! Needed the break.
