Last month someone turned the light out at the end of the tunnel. But now I replaced the light bulb and I can see the end again.

George those headlight buckets are an assembly you have to put the headlight in and put the beauty ring on then install it as one unit.

I found that out. I removed them anyway. They were in the way of getting my bolts in the grill on each side. The adj screws are to short and I ordered new ones.

Re: 1968

I installed the platic boot. the one that fits between the firewall and the booster.
Installed the grill support that supports the outer grill to the inter grill alone with the hood latch.
Both attached to each other.
Installed the hood latch.

Re: 1968

Today the rear brake hose came in. I tried to install it, but ran into another set back. The hose that Classic parts sent me was 4 inch to short. So I movied the holder that is welded to the rear end from the front of the rear end to the back side of the rear end. Now everything work good. I was going to mount the front turn signals, but I noticed a bare wire on one of the pig tails. better fix it up now than worring about it later. It is getting close to the 21st and that is body work time. I will be glad when I can shoot some color on the whole truck.

The truck is going to be solid orange. No chrome anywhere. The mirrows, wipers arms, front and rear bumpers, head light benzels, hoops are going to be orange. Even the inside of the truck is orange. The seats are old school roll and tuck black and orange. A Chevrolet bow tie in the middle on the seat with a 1968 sewed in with my name on one side and the wifey on the other.

I am expecting some more parts this week. I order a power steering pump, chrome 3'' breather, some 350 emblems. I am now looking for a quad jet carb that can be rebuilt. I have a friend that ownes a shop and that is about all he does is rebuilds carb and transmission.

They sent you the correct hose.
On the 1972 rear axle there is a bracket for the brake hose that bolts on to the differential cover on the upper right hand quadrant which is why the hose is short.

That don't seen to be right. I am using a 1972 rear end and a 1972 cross member with the tab to mount the brake line. So you would think a 1972 hose should fix without any mod.

Re: 1968

Today i finshed the rear brake rubber brake hose. But, I think it is still a little to short. Brian you said that there was a tab the fits in the bolts for the diff. cover. I think that would be a wise choice to get one. or make one myself. I don't like the way it looks. I
also installed the front turn signal housings.

Re: 1968

After the rain, I drilled a 5/16 hole in the rear brake hose brackets on the rear end. Now it looks like a pro did it. I really like the way it came out. Thanks brian.
My head light adjusting screws came in so I installed them.

No I wish I were. But my Brother-In-Law had a emergency and had to fly to New York. So it has been set back untill the 24th of Aug. Family come first. I told him to take care of his daughter first. This old truck is not in a hurry. I purchased a steering column for the truck today. A used stock column no tilt. This way I can use a 68 steering wheel. Which I really like.
