Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
looking good man. It's nice to see some body components starting to make their way back onto the frame.
As for the leather I like the Moondust, or the tan. I'm just not much on tan interiors though. However, if it's two toned like that second set of seats you showed that would be pretty cool. |

Those seats on ebay are sick. I would love to have those in my truck. I've been debating changing my interior from burgandy to tan but havent decided yet.

Looking good Dennis. Keep them pics coming. Core support looks great! BTW I like the sandalwood and the seats on ebay. Just my $.02 worth.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
as promised just a little late. i had problems with the collector bolts... you need to bolt the collector flange on the headers before you install them!!!!!!!!!!! i couldnt get a wrench or thin wall socket on them.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
i ended up also taking the Goats MSD "massive" wires off and swapping them with the a/c delcos that i put on the lq9 so there would be more clearance on the headers. i also had to grind the oil dipstick bracket down to clear the header flange.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
i used an angle grinder to file down the ear of the tranny on the driverside. i had it so it would clear the flange but i couldnt get the bolts tight and said screw it... broke out the big grinder with a cut off wheel and took off about a half inch. you cant even tell and there wont be a hole when i get the dust cover on.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Wow!!! Those look freakin awesome man! Great choice on the headers.
Also, I vote for the Ebay seats...done in the Moondust, light gray, color. Would be a very classy color combo on your truck.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Josh, here's a pic of how much i had to cut off. i could have taken less off but it just about made it impossible to get to the collector bolts. i took the headers off again til tomorrow so i can get anti sieze. and heres the modded bolt also!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
i wanted to add these are the s & p headers. very very nice quality header. even came with arp fasteners! the flange is a good thickness so there shouldnt be any warps or leaks. and they fit like a glove. worth the extra money guys

it moves the leaf springs from the top of the axle to the bottom. in the pics posted there was no axle installed yet.
