Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Thanks VWNate1!! Zona 5 and the football field (soccer actually!) is half a mile from here! I was born in ´75 so you probably were in Guatemala in the months after the huge earthquake... If you look into my profile, you will see my dad, my mom and this very same truck around that time! Lago de Atitlan is behind. I am the oldest kid in the photo.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Thank you 72 tigger!! How amazing and small world! Unlike Chevrolet, GMC has never had an authorized dealer here, so most of them came to the country rolling straight from the US, so we call it "rodados" (rolled, literally, in Spanish). GMC´s are harder to find, and coming from my grandfather and my dad, I have special feelings for this truck. Welcome here whenever you come and let me know if you want to take a ride in my old 67!

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Well ;
I was going to type " Footbal " but the Gringos here prolly wouldn't understand so I spelled it wrong , sorry . My Son was , uh , er , " commenced " there although he was born in America . I really enjoyed living in Guatemala City , the military coup was kinda scary as my Garage was right next to a Radio Station , we all made it through O.K. When I visited the lake below the volcano , I was able to cook a chicken in a net bag by weighting it with stones and lowering it , in a net bag , into a submersed volcanic vent...... Fun times ! (mostly) . I owned and rode a 1937 Harley-Davidson 61" Knucklehead Motocycle all over the country , so beautiful , so wracked by war .

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
17 x 9" built off a factory 16.5" Center....
Now to figure out which "white" is correct..... WA-3967 (aka Dover White or Antique White) or WA-5111 (GMC Truck White). Anyone know? -G

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
-Greg72,
been waiting for this to be done. Very cool! Gave my old '70 bias ply 15" tires to a figure 8 racer and asked for the wheels back for that reason. Never did see the wheels. Not like I have anything to put them on.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
No to figure out which of these two GM Whites from 69-72 is correct:
WA5111 (GMC Truck White #521) vs. WA3967 (Antique White #11 aka Dover White #50) -G

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
After looking through all the post I must say there's nothing like just plain ole wheels and painted white just makes them really standout..Here's mine there 1948 steelies 16"x3 1/2 to 4" wide..with pizza cutter tires with 55-56 caps...

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Haven't been on this site for a long while, here's my '69 with it's current setup. Powder coated steelies and unknown center caps I picked up, 245s in the front, 295s out back

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
I havent made up my mind yet on my two sets (4) of 15's that I'll want on the truck. The white rim ais 15x5.5 & the black rim is 15x6. I think I'll go with the wider black rims, wider is better isnt it. LOL

Factory for now, I have 8" wide coming for the rear, but will still have the overall same look. Thanks.
