No fishing Steve (too HOT), but we do play some really sweaty rounds occasionally on the weekends. Things are turning around, I was on a plan long before Dave Ramsey ever got popular. Things kinda took a turn back in June and I'm fixing them the best way I know how.

The funny thing, JB weld actually held it together for a few years and neither of the two owners before me knew about it.

Been doing well. Took a break after losing a couple friends, been working on a new business venture, etc. No projects right now. Give me a week or two though! LOL Im looking!

I love this build. I'm so an oohs to start on mine. I really want to get mine driving, then do projects to gradually improve it, but as I read your thread I see how much needs done to these old trucks. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill with guys like me!

Just checking in. Any new progress lately?? Your thread has been somewhat of a guide for me to track my progress and decide which direction to head next. I may have missed it a while back, but do you have a location planned for mounting your ecu/fuse box you created from the LT1swap info? I'm hoping to finish my harness rework this week, but have been debating whether I should lengthen any wires to have more flexibility with my ecu mounting. Thanks. Looking forward to more pictures soon.

No new progress lately. I have been focused on other priorities the last few months.
On the ECM, I'm going to mount mine inside the cab right under the steering column. Similar to what crashok and rocketking are doing with theirs. Sorry I don't have a link right now but I'll post one when I get on a regular computer.

I know the feeling. My work has been few and far between. No problem on the links, I'll look them up and check it out for some ideas. If you don't mind me asking, did you end up having to lengthen any wires for the driver's side of your harness, particularly the injectors for 1,3,5,7? I was thinking of lengthening mine, to mount my ecm under the dash, but then got the crazy idea that I could maybe just swap out the pins on my ecm plugs for the injector wiring. (swapping the pin for cylinder 1 for cylinder 7, and cylinder 3 for cylinder 5) It sounds feasible in my head at least, and hopefully eliminates the need for any cuts or splices. Just curious on your thoughts. Thanks Mike. Looking forward to progress soon.

I don't think I will need to lengthen any of my wires to put the PCM in the cab. I may be wrong but I think my truck harness will be long enough to do it the way I want? I haven't gotten that far along yet.

Hey Mike, here I came over here hoping that this thing was all done by now!! guess I was wrong, but at least there is a bit more progress, one tid bit to think of, the seam sealer for the roof reail, I use either a self leveling seam sealer 2 part or a body panel adhesive to put in the seam. sick of the normal seam sealer shrinking and cracking. Keep it up bud!

People always ask me if I'm going to sell my 69 once I'm done building it. I also tell them I'm never selling it, Unless someone hands over $35-$40 K cash. I would find another frame and cab and start all over. There wouldn't be anything like having $35,000 worth of parts showing up all at once. I think an LS427 would have to been in on that list.

I was out at Barrett-Jackson this week and I saw several high dollar builds where the PCM was mounted right on the firewall. When you wire them up real nice like Mark does, it looks real nice.

Sorry if I missed where you talked about your 4.8L, it's been so long since I read your whole build. Where did you get your engine? Did you open up any part of it?

Also, I forgot to ask.....I see your using a Walbro GSL392. Have you ever heard how loud it is while running? I was going carb'd at the time when I bought my boyd gas tank, I've now decided to go with Fast EZ-EFI. Now I need to find a pump for efi and we all know how loud these inline pumps can be. I'm also considering having my tank modified for an intank pump.
