Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Was going through some old pic's of my Burbans past, and I came across my old '69 that I miss TERRIBLY!!! I just bought a red '72 GMC Burb (second pic) with plans of setting her stance very similar to the '69.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Here are some pics of my 69 3 door on 20's and air bags 454 turbo 400 w/shift kit 4:11 posi rear it's not a cool as most on here but it's enough for me. Front bumper is do it a miss hap but we will not get into that one but to say the responsible person is buying a new one to replace it.
The first pic shows my 2012 suburban roof rack and the third light tail I installed it fits really well to the curves believe it or not like the roofs have not changed from 1969 to 2012 and was way easier then installing the Toyota one on my 4runner. OH ya it has an original 1969 license plate too.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
It is said that pictures don't lie, but I can tell you differently. My Burb is a DRIVER, . It has stone chips, scratches, and a little peeling paint in places, but it shows well unless you get really close (and I don't freak if someone gets too close). I don't care if it doesn't win trophies, it is fun to drive and take to show 'n' shines and to meet people that have never seen a three-door Burb.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
That was my intent I want to drive it not trailer it and enjoy it I don't understand that build it and never drive it thing but to each his/her own and I do enjoy looking at them but I really like the ones you know look good from a distance but show their real purpose up close: to drive it divine to show only is to waste a good car

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
+1! Looks killer!!! Great stance! Are you able to get a good enough turning radius without rubbing to run it at that height, or do you have to add some air to the front?

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Thanks. They ride much better than low pro's. Yes, They rub a little with the front all aired out, with the stock inner fenders. That's a small tire in the front.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Hello, I’m the proud owner of a 1970 Chevrolet Ambulance. I saved it from being scrapped for the Engine (454) and transmission (TH400). It was not running, sitting outside, rotting tires, and major infestation of Wasps. I believe it has less than 84K original miles on her. Time and $$ later I have her running fairly well. I would love to know who did the conversion. I think my rear etched glass is the key to finding out who did the conversion. I trolled around the web and I’m circling around it being a Stoner conversion just not sure. I’m planning on meeting an ambulance builder in Portland named Larry Miller who has made a number of the ambulance conversions during the time this was built. Kind of excited to see what he has to say. The history I know it was originally purchased by the City of Albany Fire Department, later retired and sold/given to Scio fire district and eventually sold to me. I guess I should mention that these are all in a fairly small area of Oregon, and that I live in Albany Oregon. On another note after changing my front breaks I was wondering if there is a possibility to change them to disks. I hope no one thinks that’s some sort of sacrilege. It would just make it nicer to drive. Jason S Last edited by Jason S; 08-06-2012 at 08:31 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
cool truck...and feel free to upgrade to discs...those things are heavy and need all the help they can get stopping....
you can find 6 lug disc break conversions from early classics industries or other board vendors.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
New to the board. Figured I'd post my 'burban. Fun truck. Original drivetrain. Closed knuckle d44 doesn't do much for stopping - so if i were to do anything it'd be to update the front axle. Its got an old Rancho lift kit from the previous owner.
