Thanks Ray, yes they are Hagen units, so were the old ones. The new system for installing the light is much better than the older units. Will have to modify the old bucket (pass side), but no big deal...Jim

Well, managed to get a few hours in the shop today.

Pic 1 Is the location of the existing turn signal, that needed to be cut out. My old system was welded to the fender, new ones are different.

Pic 3 This is the rubber sleve that is held tight to back side and then tighten the clamp to hold everything in place.

Well I couldn't help myself, had to throw a couple bolts in the fender and set it in place to check the fit. Don't see any major problems. Will have to wait till next week and Mark can help me install inner and outer fender together to see if any cutting and welding are needed.

I'm impressed that you can get back into fixing it so quick.
I'd be so depressed I'd probably just stare at it and hope
it would fix itself!

Hope there isn't to much cutting and welding.

That new turn signal assembly looks like a simple install. It looks good too. Repairs are coming along very well.

Thanks, they are LED will be brighter that the old set.

Believe me when I say I hoped it would fix itself, hoped it was a bad nightmare, but it wasn't...Jim

I like the chrome trim ring of the new light. It adds just the right amount of bling. The repair is looking really good.

Faribran, The TIG unit I have is from Eastwood (TIG200) AC/DC is is an awesome TIG machine! and you can find them on sale for around $700.00 and they offer a digital 200 AC/DC unit now for $1000.00
Both units have a trigger on the torch so you don't have to use the foot pedal all the time (like under a car) hope this helps.

Thanks Marc and Kees. With the chrome around the headlight and the turn signal it will match better. Plus I'm going with a chrome grill this time, so lots of ...Jim

I like the new turn signal approach too. Not that i didn't like the prior look but this just looks a bit more finished. Matching the headlight chrome and grill is just a bonus.

You ARE aware that chrome adds 10 horsepower, aren't you? It's kinda like the huge diagonal letter "R" graphic on Japanese import cars! Lol.

The reason I ask, I used a repo also but the fasteners (10-24 screws
and nuts) between all of the sections were all very cheap poorly plated steel. I ended up jigging the whole thing up on the bench and replacing with stainless
steel 10-32 hardware.

Also, the unit was fastened with a slight skew and twist when I got it, so
I straightened that out too. A lot of the hardware was loose too.

The chrome looks really nice though, so I'm pretty happy!

Hope your's has better hardware.
