Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Hood, hood hinges, assorted hardware, tailgate, assorted hardware, rear inner fender wells etc, off to the sand blaster shop up the road tommorrow. Got a lot of trim holes on the exterior of the tailgate I need filled, and a few rust spots that need attention. My friend John can do all the welding, but I want to get this stuff blasted first to see what I have to work with. Same thing with the hood, looks like it needs some work and want to see what's all there before I move on! All stuff loaded in my GMC and will drop off tommorrow!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Dropped off the tailgate and rear inner fenderwells today. Said they can't blast the hood, so I took it home and stripped off some paint myself in the troubled areas. Also cleaned up the hood spring assy's, and tailgate parts myself, ready for repaint. Oh, by the way, I'm no body man but I gave it a shot today. Passenger side rear outer quarter panel is in real sad shape, so I gave it a massage. Not done yet, but feel good about the way it looks so far!Pic's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
My drivers side looks just as bad. As a temporary fix I pushed it in from the inside from the light hole as best I could and bondo it do it looks pretty good. Without all the tools and knowledge all you can do Is your best. Looks like it's coming out pretty strait. Mine still needs work but you can only do so much after you bounce it off of a tree. Lol

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Thank's Chuli! All the dents you see in those pic's were there from the po. Except the one toward the front at the body line, and that was from bouncing it off a tree also! Hope to get some more bondo on tommorrow after the rain stops!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Mines po gutted mine for desert romping. I'm still trying to get the interior together and the body wasn't much better. My tear dent happened while following a jeep guy. He said I'd be fine on that trail and was until the last turn. Lol. Front made it so I thought i was good. Nope.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Oh yea, got some more bondo work done today. No pic's yet, but this rear lower quarter panel is STARTING to look good! Ran out of bondo, so have to pick some more up asap! Not really what I want in the end, but trying to make it do for now! Gotta pick up some primer paint and some sort of brown paint to match for the time being. Feeling good about the progress!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got the rear wells and tailgate back from blasting today. They did a fine job, and very reasonable price too! Just need my friend John to weld up the unneeded holes, clean up with some minimal filler, and take back to get primer sprayed on! Here's some pic's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Well, the build just hit a wall. Found out my 3 week layoff from work is going to possibly be indefinate. Have a real good lead on a job close by, just have to jump through all the unenjoyment hoops first. Don't really want to change jobs at my age, so going to take it slow. This will be the first time I have had to make this decision in over twelve years. No worries though, I will be alright. Just was hoping to get some more done on the K5. I'll keep ya'll posted, Thank's.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
That sucks about your job. Hopefully you get no the new one and it works out. The truck will always be waiting. I had to deal with the same thing about 10 years ago. Good luck.

Just ordered up some more body filler to do some temporary cosmetic repairs. Bored and out of work, so really need something to keep me busy besides the honeydo list!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
COMPLETLY off topic here, but I am gratefull my 16 year old daughter walked away from this rollover today! Thank god she was in a GM full size suv, or she would probably be dead. So scary, and too bad my insurance coverage wont cover the total loss. But, I still have my youngest baby!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Wow, I'm so happy to hear she's OK !! I have a 22 year old Daughter and a 19 year old Son and that right there is my worst nightmare. A vehicle can be replaced, but loved ones can't.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Right on hemi43. Going to look at another Envoy later tonight. One good thing did happen though, I went back to work today! Still can't believe she walked away from this crash with just a couple sprapes and some bruises! If this would have been a lesser vehicle, the outcome would have been very different!
