Got the 68 out in the sun . Needed to move it to get my maple syrup equipment out. Smoked some venison sausage that we made yesterday. Made a little over 50 pounds

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I'm having these blasted for my beater C-20. The guy doing them sent me this pic. asking if he should carry on, because one took two hours with black diamond media. Thumbs up, he does great work. I feel his pain. Horrible paint job, but miserable stuff, I've had far more success removing powder coat with aircraft paint remover.

Any reason to polish these? They'll already be far nicer than anything else on this truck. Depending on model, nothing tops vintage cyclone to me. My C-20 already has a set, but the rears are $450 a tire too big.

OT: Discovered there are at least two types of cyclone western turbines. One has an option for a push through hub cap as opposed using lug nuts.

I bought these, cuz they're cheaphttps://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=...AAAAAdAAAAABAF

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got the wiring finished up on the broski's truck and tested all the goodies inside the cab (Dakota Digital gauges, GPS Speedo, Holley Fuel Injection Module, Vintage Air and RetroSound radio).

He's been working on welding up the exhaust after work the last couple of nights. We've still got to add the O2 sensor bung and figure out what we want for hangers, but it's good enough for now.

Just a few more things to button up and we should be firing it up on Friday!

Stripping down for paint, adjusted doors. Drilled holes for the Sierra Grande emblem, had Sierra emblems on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Yesterday I replaced my speedometer cable and bullet in my 3 speed Saginaw transmission. I finally have a working speedometer!! Yea, so happy about that.

Last Friday, I replaced my old, worn out, and sloppy Mr. Gasket shifter to a Hurst 3 speed shifter. Oh man, I love the way it shifts now, clean, quick, and precise. Night and day difference.

Replaced hinge pins and bushings, easy task. Aligning the doors was not quite so fun. What is the best tool for the bolts on the front of the hinge, with fender on?

A 16 year old is the best for under dash projects.
New cluster and random wiring delete.
Had a trans temp gauge a tach and random switch hacked into the other cluster.

Bypassed my heater core. Found antifreeze running down the firewall and into the shop floor. Guess it gave up the ghost. Add it to the repair list.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I used this wrench to reach the back bolts. It was slow and tedious, not perfect, but got it done.

Talking Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I went by the exhaust shop this morning. $130.00 to run the exhaust to the stacks. I thought was very good price. He said bring it over Friday!
I bought 2-4" clamps and cut the old ones off. I clamped it to the headache bar it ant going no place.

I had to cut 2-1/4" holes on each corner of the bed. The first picture is looking up through it to the top of the stack!
