Sorry dude, I'll have to go to your competitor.

The decals are top secret "The JohnC Hater Club" decals.
You must know nothing about them

Ouch man that hurts! Ironically though you could probably make some good money selling them.

I understand. I can't carry it all, but I sure do try!
I do have the wooden dowels though.

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"

Thanks Scott!
Got a ton more welding and grinding left to do.

Mike, I cut the door out of the front to move it to the back. I have a piece I cut out of one of my junk doors to use to fill in that big hole I cut

Nope, still not tired of the wheels, gotta get some new tires though.
I think I'm gonna go 255/60/17 in the front and 285/60/17 on the rear. I need more sidewall.

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"

Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, gas and .025 wire is the only way to go. I have a Lincoln 135-sp welder. Before I got this welder I was using a little century welded with .035 flux core wire. I tried and tried to weld sheet metal with that and it was a no go, I could weld 1/4" steel with it no problem though.

Thanks John!!

I have made up my mind, I'm gonna convert to 4x4. It's a no brainer since we are moving back to Alaska at the end of March. I have been checking out DIY4BY, they have some cool stuff.
After we get moved and settled in up north I'm going on the hunt for some 3/4 or 1 ton axles. I wanna do @ a 4" lift and some 35-37" tires.
Decide to start saving for a 6.0 swap also.
I'm thinking I might do a snow camo style paint job.
I'll find a pic of the snow camo I want to do.
Let me know what everyone thinks of my plans.

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"

Joe, all you need to know about doing the 4x4 swap is covered a lot of times over on the pirate board. I warn you though buddy, search and lurk for awhile to do your research. Guys asking about stuff that's been covered before will bring out the heavy guns. It's the best 4x4 board on the intertubes but it's also full of Internet meanies too.

Alaska? Better buy the battery heater, oil pan heater, transmission heater and block heater now and get it all installed.
