Re: How about some pics of 2wd Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

just got this 88 Scottsdale.
Noticed that the front is riding on the bumpstops. What's the easiest way to drop another inch or 2 and fix this ride?

Additionally, front drop was accomplished by 3" drop springs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Great looking rig, I hope to get mine pretty close to this. Yours happens to be the same color and the wheel I would have gone with.

You could do a drop spindle for a 2.5-3" drop and go with less of a drop spring or look into shaving the bumpstop down if there is room. Make sure your shocks are not bottoming out as well.

thanks man, i'm going to cut the bump stops as a temp, but just trying to get a permanent plan in place and complete before the Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run.

Why am I having such a hard time finding a 2wd Blazer? I find 4wd by the dozens. Did they not make a lot of them?

There are a few of them out here in So Cali however since a few of them are pre-smog they are asking a ridiculous price for them.

I believe only 7% of total production was 2wd.

It took me a long time to find the right one for me! I still see a bunch on Craigslist or Kijiji, depending on where you are from!

Talking pics of 2 wd Burbs?

I've been a car/truck guy for over 50 years . I have a 2001 Texas 2500HD crew and a 99 GMC Z71 stepside .Wife drives a 07 Sub. During our 50th anniversary date (Oct 13th) my wife decided to buy me a 88 Square Sub I was drooling over . One owner for 29 years died in Aug His non-car guy son in law wanted to get rid . This truck is a time machine . 82,000km (49,200mi.) Bought new in Oct 1988 for 25 g. 9 pass loaded White (my fav) no roof rack.. 8 inch rallies . never winter driven (heated garage) factory markings on frame !! Just love it . gorgeous red interior . 350 TPI 4 speed auto 40 gal tank 3:08 .

Re: How about some pics of 2wd Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

Thank you.. I just love it.. I drove it 2 miles and put in garage . Used eraser wheel to take off grandpa red stripes from the 80's . Grandson (age 21) wants me to drop it with air bags and add sassy 6.0L . My 42 year old friend/boss wants me to swap in a Duramax (Hes done 3 2000-06 Subs. 2 with quad steer) . I think I should leave it stock . maybe duals and some 20 inch rims In spring it will be 30 so collector plates
