Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Today I started at 7 and got a lot done with a little help from my friends. Rus and Matt. They got there just as I got new lifters to install. I took the collapsed one out and took it apart only to find that it had trash in it. I cleaned it out and its good. I figured I might ought to get new ones as the others may have trash in them too. I did take another apart and it was clean though. I took the oil filter off and changed the oil. I cut the filter apart and didn't find anything. Rus put my new tranny pan on my other truck Tonto and Matt and I installed the new lifters. The motor is about ready to start up again and adjust the valves. I will cut an old set of valve covers so I can adjust them without throwing oil everywhere. We also did some things to Matts ride. His truck is Fast!

I should have put the oil back in while I had the intake off but I worked around it. I put an air fitting on my new funnel and did a little at a time.

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I probably could have just taken them all apart and cleaned them but its a good thing I got new ones. The second one I took apart the clip flew out and I still haven't found it lol

Haha, Rus said it went towards my freezer. Its probably under it. My back was to the truck. That would have really sucked.

Chuck, I wish I had known you guys were doing that today. I don't know if I would have been able to come up for long, but maybe for a little bit. Lizzy came home from the hospital today.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

That's good news, Bryan.
I had a blast @ Chuck's today. I really like working on Choncho because the engine compartment on that truck is PERFECT. I love how original it looks. Plus, I got to hang out with my two good buddies. Thanks Chuck, for letting me come up there, and of course for the help on my truck.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

mee too.

I went to the Stones River Swap meet this morning with Rus and looked at a million things. I wound up getting this oil can. My plan is to make a top for it like a stool.
