It was alright. I had to get the kids home to bed so I didn't see the end.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

I like your turbo setup but I can't quite see how you have mounted them to the exhaust manifold. Could you take a couple better pics of how you set the turbos up or explain it better? Thanks

If I remember correct the manifold is flipped upside down and I know the secondary is in the factory location. I'll see if I can get some pictures this week when we put it back inside.

Here are some pics of the turbos. They're hard to see with the hvac box on the cab.

My truck has 17hp now!

Here's how the truck sits on flat ground.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

moah a diesel in a vette isnt too bad as long as it goes like stink
the corvette isnt the bvest base for a quarter mile racecar though from wat i understood there getting a bit squirely and having tractionproblems
a camaro or chevelle might be a better idea

Goes fast: check
Tons of fun: check
Not a stuck up "vette guy": check
Makes said "vette guy" mad: check

After reviewing my above criteria, the Corvette is bad ass. What's the cooler between the radiator and intercooler? Oil cooler?

If you give me a month I'll have an extra Chevy D60 steering arm if you want to swap to it. Shipping and it's yours.

We get that from quite a few people. It's hilarious to watch the die hard vette guys. Especially when I tell them how fast it is. Then they just leave. Haha.

Seriously, traction an issue? That may be why it has huge DOT drag slicks on it. I'm just taking a guess here.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

Today I installed my vent shades, trimmed my gauge pod to set on the dash, and installed the last 2 window wiper seals for the LH door. I also started installing the new door seals. They irritated me and I went to a junk yard and got some to try out later.

Things are going good. Finally found a new house after all these years of looking. It already has an out building. Half of it is heated and has concrete floor. Need to get busy on stuff. Unfortunately a lot of little things to do to the house.

They're doing good Nate! Nope, he was born April 11th this year. He's doing pretty good. How about your family?

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

No pics, but I did manage to get the new to me weather stripping on the cab. If anyone wants an upgrade from the glue on factory crap, use door seals from a 87-96 (before they changed the body style) Dodge Dakota. You will need to cut off about 3" or so, but the stuff holds it self on because it has a metal clamp inside it. You go to a junk yard and find 2 good used seals, clean them up, re crimp the channel and install on to your cab. Works so much nicer than taping and gluing the factory stuff!
