Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

You've inspired me to finally get my grill done, our trucks are very similar and I forgot how good the black accents look on the '69 grill.
Great looking truck!

Pics of my truck with wheels added. Can't decide which ones. Wide whites or the new wheels.

The new wheels are a great match with the Belly Tank door logo! Definitely the new ones.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

New wheels definitely.
In my opinion,... wide whitewalls were never correct for our era truck.
No one in the late 60's and early 70's would have been "caught dead" with a set of wide whites on their truck.
A set of Cragars or aluminum slots with some Firestone Wide Ovals maybe,... but never wide white.

The new wheels... definitely.

What are the lowering specs on the truck? IIRC it's close to a 4/6.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Here is my '67 C10 I picked up a couple weeks ago. It has sat for about three years after the old fella who owned it passed away.

This is when I picked it up as you can see it is pretty oxidized

Here is the other side. Unfortunately you can't see the patina real well.

I put the buffer to her and I think I really like the look. It needs more work to get the swirls out.

Not sure what I want to do for wheels. My buddy had these handy so we threw them on. May look into some retro styles.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

So when I picked my '67 up a couple weeks ago from an ole gal who's husband had passed a few years back she asked me and my buddy if we were interested in "The other old truck" which we hadn't paid any attention to. Well after we loaded up the 67 we walked down by the barn and checked out the 1947 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton. Turns out they had used this truck for hunting and back around 1993 parked it and it just sat all these years. Well we looked at it my buddy told the ole gal he just may come back with a couple hundred bucks and take it off her hands, to which she replied "A couple hundred bucks will buy it." One week later we made another 250 mile trip and brought her home, her son got involved so it ended up being $500 instead of $200 but he also helped us load it up and that was worth it as well.

Yeah we didn't really think this through when we pulled out with this tiny trailer 8300 pounds truck and trailer! Not including the tow vehicle.

Ripped the box off and going through it slowly.

My buddy is in love with the patina.

This grill and bumper are absolute killer!

We're thinking it might be badass to drop it on a 3/4t frame and make a mild rat rod out of her?

Sorry about the pics but photobucket isn't playing nice today and won't let me edit at all!
