Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I unfortunately found out today my pass side window crank is stripped out. PO had installed lots of silicone to fix it haha. Didn't work very well. But I do have my new oak wood stained and cut ready to seal for my bed though.

Dragged my son out to help me pull the cab off the parts truck. He had to do something for the first day of Summer vacation.

Yes, and I'm moving right along at getting it done. Tailgate patch piece is in better shape than I thought. This should work well. Stay tuned.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Thanks to jonzcustomshop's advice I cut the end of the frame rails(on 73' chassis) off to mock up fitment of original frame rail ends(61'). Now I got to measure , trim, fit, and trim, and tack it on....see if it all fits together.....This will probably be the last chassis swap I'll do LOL it's a PITA...
I admire guys like Jon who have the creativity and patience to build works of art.....I lack the patience lol.... |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I pulled the valve cover on my 292 from the 64 lwb I just bought. Slight film of milky oil. Pretty sure I caught it before any real damage has been done. Next up will be to yank the head and dig a little deeper...
I also washed and waxed the whole truck. Here's a before and after!!! |

Installed an adjustable tracking bar today, and replace my 4" drop rear coil springs with 5" ones.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Ok Pimpston65, I finished the fabrication you said I should do. Tailgate is almost done. I probably have 20 hours of work in this thing. Yikes!
Check out the BEFORE and AFTER pics.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I have never been much for the fake PATINA paint jobs but I gave it a shot and love it ! Grey primer, smeared on some black then shot white, rubbed thru to the black then shot it with matte clear. Before and after....

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Hooked up wiring for Borg Warner Overdrive on my 4 speed! Happy to say at least the Solenoid works and does shift into Overdrive as it should
Still need to workout governor and kickdown switch, but glad to have it functional. Hooligan
