Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Had a productive afternoon today. Mark and I installed the pass. door. It looks great (see pic) I hooked up the power windows, so their working again.

Mark wet sanded the bumper with 2-3-5000 paper, and then buffed in out, looks great. (see close up pic).

I reinstalled the hood rubber on the cowl, and cleaned up area. I then wet sanded the splash apron with 2-3-5000 paper, still needs to be buffed. (see pic)

Here's a few pics.

Smooth and straight panels! The reflection of the light bulbs doesn’t have any bend or wave. Nice!

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Was out in the shop a little Saturday, and today. Got both front fenders wet sanded with 2,000 paper. They came out nice. Hope to work on them again later this week. Here's some pics...Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Back in the shop today, and finished both fenders with 3,000 and 5,000. Next step is to buff it out. Will be a day or two. Here's a couple pics, doesn't look much different that before, but it sure is (see close up)...Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Mark, I'll say it again, you guys are an inspiration.

I just sent this link to my buddy who is taking the 48 from me. He wants to do the paint and I've told him that if he follows your steps he can do it.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Just now saw the pics Mark posted on the finished buffing. Between the two of us we got the front end put back in place. Still have a lot of lining up stuff, then in can be tightened down. Here's a couple pics I took a little while ago...Jim

Thanks Ray, it feels good to see in going back together. Will still be awhile, to get things aligned, electrical hook up, etc.. Then back to sanding. That hood is a big piece...Jim

WOW! That is beautiful, and the attention to detail on that truck is very impressive!

Thank you both for sharing that with us.
