Got my tires mounted by a good friend on my newly polished rims.
Hope to have the Kodiak axle under the C50 in a few days and mount these!

This is bad ass , pardon the French . Those body lines match perfectly . What a project , I can't wait to see more of this in the future . Very original

Did you use just the bed of the pickup mounted to the c50 cab or is it the c50 front clip mounted to pickup cab and bed or lol sorry does the c50 share the cab of the pickups already .

looks great so far nice job

The C50 cabs are mostly like C10/20/30's but the firewall is different and some of the floor but most all sheet metal parts are the same. Even the cowl is the same. The doors are the same but the leading edge of the door is cut at an angle to accommodate the C40/50/60 fender.
My C50 frame is stock but is cut right behind the cab and I welded on a 92 6500 Topkick frame to get the modern 10 lug rearend with disk brakes. This allowed me to mount the super singles.
The bed is supported by 8 2x2 square tubing about 6" tall with a 1/4" plate on top that the mounting hole is drilled in. I just installed my front axle from a Freightliner that I shorted 10 inches. Tomorrow I will remount the hubs and new calipers (same as the rear ones, dual 2.88" pistons) and hopfully mount the 22.5 rims and tires 275x70x22.5

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Went to a show the other night (first night drive) and realized that most of the dash cluster lights did not work. So I naturally began the investigation as to why. Although I installed the dash cluster, the previous owner had put the cluster together. I did not notice, or at least I don't remember noticing, the splice in the cluster's printed circuit. (first pic)
I removed the cluster and discovered that the splice had come apart. Since Lone Star Parts is just down the highway, I got a new one and installed it, thinking that would solve the problem. WRONG (2nd pic)
As soon as I plugged in the cluster, it began smoking. I ruined that printed circuit incredibly quick. I began searching for the problem and I think I found the problem. A very thin piece of copper wire was in the bulb socket for the fiber optic cable. Now I just need to either repair the printed circuit or get another one and try again.

Talking Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Drivers side is installed and wired. Seats move as they should and heaters are working. Got to drive it the rest of the week and see how everything feels and wait for my next night off which is Sunday before I start on the passenger side. I'll have to drill holes for it. The drivers side went good the brackets mounted right back in the same holes as the old seat. Seat belts everything was a easy swap.
I had plan to have the heaters turn off with the seat belt if you unbuckled it and left the switch on but the little wire pig tails in the buckle work in reverse for a buzzer I guess. They will cut off when I turn the truck off but would like to have a safety cutoff if someone forgets. Anybody know a way to do this?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I been released from paint jail. I was told 4 weeks but it took 5. I'm happy with the results. This is paint code 529, medium blue green poly (metallic) and white. It's the original colors.
Now all I need is 12 of my closest friends to set it back on the frame.
Pizza and beer is on me.

Got a group of buddies over and removed the cab and the bed.

I have no idea what I'm doing or how I got this far haha.

Scared and excited all at the same time.

Finished installing new door rubbers/felts in both doors. Not a big fan of the fit I got in the end. At least the door doesn't rattle anymore when I shut it and the windows roll up and down as they should.
