57 3600 big window with a modified 235 in the Portland Oregon area with a fairly reasonable price. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...5-a5d4c5cf9698

It sounds like it might need a little engine work but That might not be a deal breaker.

That 125K probably isn't close to the original price the owner paid either.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!

If I had that much money to spend I'd have my pile of parts down at a friend's hot rod shop being built. They are well versed in doing what I need done. It was his shop that built this 56 Crown Victoria wagon a couple of years ago. That car is so right and perfect that people argue that it is a restored original. It would take all of that 168 Canadian K though.

A good part of that is bragging rights for having a truck built by Icon. Having an Icon truck gets you a prime parking spot on gold chainer row at Goodguys events a fair part of the time.

The shop that built that Ford wagon that I showed can build equal or nicer trucks but doesn't have the "name" to command mega bucks. He built this truck for a local orchardist/farmer a few years ago and it still shows up there with the best of the trucks in the country.

55 box and decent fenders (TF) in Hermiston Oregon https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

It looks like like a pretty straight bed and decent fenders with a lot of brushed on paint.

From the owner ….

“ A big thank you for all the wonderful comments and bids. FYI, the build price is correct, ($360,000) but the build time frame is closer to 3 years from the initial deposit.”

Another trying to recoup just build cost. Many here now lucky to get .50 on the dollar for completed ones and .10 on the dollar for projects.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!

I would expect a totally new, semi production truck like the Icon to depreciate much like a new mass production truck. In that light 360->354 over 4 years is pretty good value holding.
Any number of shops could build the same thing in essentially unlimited numbers, it is never going to be an investment, just a depreciating asset.

I hope it makes the new owner happy. It is not for me, by means or interest.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!

Icon has built their brand and that brand is a big part of that sales price. Not that the truck isn't a top level truck that has a pretty good chance of wining an award at most shows but it has been round long enough to be one of the "seen it before and gave it a trophy then" rigs on the show trail . That is something the long timers here pretty well understand. You have your year or two with a fresh build or fresh to the area rig to win awards and after that it usually in the seen it several times before category as far as a lot of award pickers go. The same reason that if you have a real nice truck for sale it is often the guys a thousand miles away who are hot after it, It will be a new truck on the block when they drive it to shows there.

solid looking five window project truck in Enumclaw Wa https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

A pretty solid looking truck that has been kept indoors for a number of years. 4500 is out of my wheelhouse for a project but may be real interesting to others.

I've met a number of guys who have said that with an air of superiority over he years. On the other hand around 2000 I got totally burned out with the whole car show/street rod thing when everyone was caught up in the "you got to have the latest ______ or your car isn't cool" thing plus the same gold chainers who would buy that Icon truck looking down their nose at me and mine be it my 48 or my 51 Merc because they didn't have 10k paint jobs and just as spendy upholstery. I bought a sailboat and went boating with a great bunch of friends for several years and it it weren't for the HAMB and the folks in this 47/59 group I would probably be out of the whole car thing as far as shows and older rigs go.

I still don't do even close to the shows I did in the 70's in Texas or here in Washington up into the 90's . I've gotten selective and would rather drive 200 miles to a great show than 20 miles to a so so event. Not having a vehicle to enter outside of my O/T car that is old enough and has the pedigree but isn't nice enough to put out where others walk up and look it over so that isn't happening and it is staying out in the cheap seats in the parking lot. We never will hit the number of shows that we used to, We hopefully will hit a number of bucket list events around the US that require some long distance driving and will be part of trips to those areas for more then just going to shows.

That one is going to draw a lot of interest even at that price. That is about what several that were in the Auction in Nebraska a few months ago went for.

59 GMC 270 that is down close to Hogfarm's hood. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...type=top_picks

If a guy is looking for a "big" 55/59 this might well be worth looking into.

This is a solid looking and straight truck from what I can see in the photos.
