me and the dawgs hiked up to these falls awhile ago, they sure are small now at the end of summer


Moe rides with the wife. he ain't so cocky and brave now when the big dogs aren't around to run too...


and this is where the trail started taking a dive. for 3 or 4 miles we drove threw this, with the odd little clearing. was surprised wife put up with it as long as she did. was a real trooper on this ride

soon as we got back into the bush, my son almost rolled his quad down the mountain.
he didn't see this hole, it blended right in from our direction, and dropped his quad into it. wife was second and i bring up the rear. go to see why wife is stopped and her and the boy are standing on the left floorboard so it won't tip and roll away. quickly threw the wife's winch line on it, then had her winch it out. all she did though was drag her 600lb quad down to the kid's 700lb quad, so i anchored the wife's down with my 500lb quad and we got it out-no probs

when we got back to the truck, spotted these 2 eagles hunting

i guess this was wit the 5.3 still? that eight-one will be fun...

Yep it was the swan's song for the 5.3 in my truck. I didn't know it at the time but it was. But the crazy thing was that it did the best it ever did on that trip. I kept my foot in it most of the time to keep it in the the power band on the highway. I actually was able to stay ahead of Larry and Ian's 8.1 powered rigs on a couple of passes and keep up with them on the interstate when we were hauling ass to Green River.

Once we slowed down on the way back the 5.3 turned in the best fuel economy I had seen since putting on the camper.

But the 8.1 will be a game changer. I won't have to plant my foot in it to maintain speed. The 5-speed will give me one less thing to worry about too compared to the 700. It's going to be a whole new animal to figure out for sure.

i bet, no replacement for cubic displacement...

been an extremely busy year at work- covid has had no impact on my job...still managed to get out a few times though. spent a lot of time taking the mutts out. Rumble and Roxie are certified bush dawgs..
