Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thanks all. I AM pretty proud of it and with the spring comes motivation, I hope. We're taking the hot rod to Midnight at the Oasis in Yuma and when I registered last June, I put the 55 as the vehicle. I guess I'm a little behind. Still hoping to make it to Brothers this summer..........

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
a 48' should have "thriftmaster" label, maybe somewhere down the line the hood or emblem was changed. Also filler neck wouldn't have been in cab. What the history on this truck?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
No where near original, but that is fine by me; not a purist. Title and tag is '48, but much of the body has been replaced over time. The body has been transferred to what has been identfied as a '78 Silverado frame. I can't tell, but that is what the seller advised. They have worked the springs to get it lower, but I am still surprised how low it actually sets. Ran pretty good after a tune up, but the fuel filter immediately turned rust color. Wasn't crazy about the tank in the cab, so I have yanked it am awaiting a Boydwelding tank to relocate behind the rear axle. Other than stripping the interior, this will be my first major project on the new toy. Everything will be a first for me. The truck is a looker from a short distance, but the paint and bodywork ultimately is less than perfect. The previous owner had a facination with self tapping screws, so there are unnecessary holes and excessively long screws throughout. Again... something to play with. I have only driven her 3 times and all times were met with thumbs up and multiple conversations with people of all ages.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
1948, thanks man. Yeah really its not a big deal, 9 outta ten folks wouldn't know the difference in 47-53 trucks 54 and 55.1 are obvious. I can see where that might be a silverado frame, hence the wheels sticking out a bit up front. anyway, looks good and def a convo for sure. you got a sbc in it I'm assuming?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
1948, sorry I didn't mean my truck wasn't a big deal. I just meant that all things that changed on the truck through the years (meaning yours) isn't a big deal. Even if the cab was changed, which it most likely was if its tagged as a 48'. Your 57' is dope too.
