Coach,
I too am running 8" and 7" rims.
Are the 235's hitting the inner tops of your fenders
Aired out? And, if you are running rear drums, do you know your width, drum face to face?
Thanks...my 255's hit

I am rear disc. Not exactly sure face to face measurement. 59" sticks in my head for some reason.

My tires come in contact with the inner fender brace at full air out.....but that is it.

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver

Interesting to watch the truck's progression through the entire thread. At some point however, it stopped being a real "old truck" and started being a sophisticated high-tech machine in the guise of an old truck. Whether that's good or bad is subject to one's personal philosophy - heck, I'm not even sure myself. Sitting on an S10 chassis, my own truck is a bit of a fake.

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver

Summer flew by.....kids go back to school next week. WOW.

I took a break from the truck and tried to enjoy the summer. Had a great summer vacation to Idaho.

Drug the truck out of the garage last night and went for a spin. Instant smile on my face. Took it to work today, which is about 10 miles from town. Good times.

Still a ton of stuff on the punch list, but will just keep pluggin away!!

Yes. Have been since the teenage BMX years. I try to do 3-4 mountain bike races a year and ride at least once a week regardless.

Yea reality hit me pretty hard the other day when I realized I only had 3 summers left with our oldest before she graduates.

The Vacation was the best ever.........soo awesome in fact we have plans to pull up stakes and move west next summer. Hopefully be Idaho residents by July 1st, 2017.

We are an outdoor activity family and the CDA/ Spokane area really has what we love!!

Coach

Check out "St. Maries" in the Idaho pan handle. Great town. You haven't lived until you have been broke down on a motorcycle road trip for three days waiting for parts in St Maries.

Good memories

As soon as the last leaves the nest, it's the loudest quite you have ever heard.

Keep on keepin on

Good times for everyone. Nothing is more important than family. Idaho looks beautiful. The picture of the lake reminds me of northern Ontario.

Wow Mike. I want to thank you. I have spent this weekend reading your threads and have enjoyed it all. It has been quite a trip building up that truck, each time. I know it was not without it's rough spots but you worked them out just fine with trial and error and with good advice from fellow members here and all. One has to wonder when you find time to sleep with all that you have been doing.
If I may offer a suggestion. The next time the engine shuts off with no fuel pressure remove the gas cap and listen for a whoosh sound. It might be it just needs a vented gas cap.
Congrats on the truck and enjoy the ride.

The vent on the gas cap being plugged did cross my mind one night in a epiphany type moment. Unfortunately the cap was fine.

I drilled a hole in the top of the spring cup with a carbide hole saw and then trimmed out the inside with a small sawzall blade.

I drilled a hole in the back side of the spring cup and ran the air line out. I drilled the hole big enough to sleeve the air line with rubber hose to make sure it was protected from any abrasion.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
