Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Al how do like that master cylinder set up? I have been thinking of going with that MC to get rid of the big booster set up. That looks so much cleaner.

It stops pretty good I did drive the truck today a few times around my neighborhood and the brakes felt very good...

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Al,... that picture was on Billet Specialties Facebook page.
I do think they try to get their custom built wheels sent out in around 30 days.
That's fast.
My Torq Thrust II's took 3 months.

Anyway,... it was worth the wait.
Your truck looks perfect!

I did drive it Saturday but with the open exhaust it was not too much fun. I am taking it to have the exhaust re route it tomorrow and friday I am taking it to it's first cruise.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Took my truck to my friend's muffler shop and we redid the mufflers and built installed turn downs. I am not a big fan of turn downs but they will do for now. Drove the truck to my shop and re aligned the truck. Double checked all wires, lines etc under the truck while on the lift and I probably used about 25 tie wraps wrapping lines nice and tight...

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Truck looks great! I have some Intro Pentias with the 20x10 and 5 inch BS and I was wondering about throwing some 315s on it? Do you think those would fit with the way your wheels fit? You may have already mentioned this but what size tires do you have in the back?

The tires clear perfect... I can ride it aired out and there is no rubbing at all the tire size is 295/40/20 as far as the 315's I have no clue maybe someone can chime in.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Here are some pictures of the rear tires and they show how much clearance there is on there. There was another member that asked me via private message and I emailed him this picts. This should give everyone an idea of how much clearance there is. I am sure that I can drive my truck at slow speed aired out like in a parking lot but I would NOT drive it any faster than that.

Nate no staged pictures yet. I am going to a big car show saturday night and I will then take some pictures.

Here is also a picture at ride height.....

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Man,... 1/2" more backspacing would have been perfect.

Did you have to center the rearend with the truck dropped?
I assume the other side is just as close?

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Looks good but I would be afraid to go any wider. A 295 should be roughly 11.61 inches wide and the 315 is 12.40 inches wide. Even with no other variables that would be a little tight I would think. Dangit I guess I will get the wheels rebackspaced. I wonder what that will cost me? Thanks for taking those pictures!

Yes we set it as close to the center as humanly possible. If I would had thought about it better I should had gone with a 5.5 backspace instead of the 5 but is ok as I don't plan on going lower nor driving it fully aired out. When it is aired out the tire is really close as you can see.

Thanks for taking those pictures!

I have no clue how much it will cost but like I said if I was doing it again I would get the extra half inch to be safe.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Depending on how low you actually go,... you have to clear the "complete" bed side,... not just the flared lip of the wheelwell.
You have to get inside of the "flat" part of the bed side.
(the n2billet mod helps when it's close)

I centered my blazer at ride height,... but then you have to deal with the rearend shifting to the passenger side when air'd out.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

I understand what you are saying my truck

Completely aired out sitting on the bumpstops the tire does not seem to hit anywhere Inside there also keep in mind that completely aired out the differential is almost hitting the floor so I am good as that's my limit at least on this truck. Do you have a link for What Keith mod is ?
I am curious to see.
