Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
Might as add the 93 I picked up today. Brought it home and gave it a bath and put my spare wheels on I had setting around. It was filthy. Still cleaning on it.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
I dig the Sidewinders. I'll never understand why wheel companies discontinue the best wheels they offer to make way for flavor of the week crap. Outbacks and Sidewinders are wheels that stand the test of time and look just right on a truck...strong and stout, not frail like they belong on a Porche. same with M/T. They discontinued the Challengers and whatever the 5-spoke star type wheels they offered. Even Alcoa duallies are discontinued. They are the 1t version of the real thing found on big trucks...WTH?
Anyway, since there is no picture sticky for Suburbans and mine is certainly a truck, here is the most non-descript boring vehicle I have ever owned . It's an ex-police K-9 unit from Cobb County GA's Sheriff Dept. Used to haul Bloodhunds for manhunts and search & rescue. Plain Jane, 350/4L80E, 4.10, skid plates, hydroboost, full-floating rear. I have plans but here it is as I bought it in December and how it is yet. so far i've cranked the torsion bars a bit, dual exhaust, and privacy tint. I'm ready to install the 255/85s on Accuride wheels from my former GMC. Been waiting for chevy caps that are on their way:

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
Thanks. I had put this wheel and tire combo together on the '92 K3500 I retired last June. I had put them on the fall before. I sand blasted, etch primed, and painted with rallye wheel paint. That was a GMC, so I had GMC hubcaps. Now that that's gone and I have this Suburban...bingo! I had to come up with some nice Chevy hubcaps and I had the idea to paint the wheels dark like the grille. It finally got nice enough out when I had some time, so I painted them. The color came out darker than expected. The plan was to paint the grille, too, but I wanted close to stock as possible. I also wanted to paint the flares white to blend them in. I just didn't like anything special about it as it was before. It's been the most mundane non-descript boring nothing special vehicle I've ever had up till now. I'm not in any hurry now to paint any of that other stuff.

I like that. Brightens it up without looking far from original. The wheels look good with that red

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
My newest ride. 93 Z71. Only 137k miles.
Added some 16x8 Centerline wheels & I also put a 2015 Z71 Grille emblem on the glovebox door. 98 style grille is on the way.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
Yes and no. It's not that they look so bad, it's that the Centerlines look so perfect. That wheel would look way better on a Tahoe anyway... IMO

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
I agree. The old school feel of the Centerline wheels fits the era & look/style of the truck better IMO.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II
I like the look of the Centerlines better but they ride like crap. Not sure if one is bent or the tire shop did a bad balance job, but it doesn't ride good at all.
The Tahoe has some factory 2011 18" Z71 wheels with the white letter Bridgestones on it that I think I will swap with the 20's. More pics to come...
