Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Whelp.... i tore apart my heater core box. Cleaned a big ol mouses nest from ALL the pockets and crevices. ( a five gallon wet or dry vac full) bleached the heck out of it. ( the last thing i need is hantavirus) recoditioned the motor and replaced the squirrel cage. Cleaned the core, lightly sanded and applied 4 coats of rattlecan clear on the box, resealed and reinstalled. It came out good
Dangit. It posted sideways again

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Got my new wiring harness finished up, installed carpet after laying sound deadener, new heater core installed, new dash pad, new Dakota Digital VHX system installed, getting ready to install all cab rubber, get all the glass back in and be ready for Crusin' the Coast in about 3 weeks! Tried to post photos, but got some weird error message about a security token....whatever that means.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I painted the inside of my tailgate with Rustoleum spray on bedliner just to see how it does & to get an idea how the rest of the inside of the bed walls & the wheel wheels are going to look once I finish sanding & prepping it. I was able to get two coats laid down before dark thirty and it turned out better than I expected. I know it's not Herculiner, Line-X or Rhino Liner but it will work fine and it's a heck of a lot cheaper too. I want to get the inside walls painted before putting down the new wood & rails.

I got mine at Lowe's http://www.lowes.com/pd_303289-90-24...ductId=3728969 I have seen it at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Autozone & Tractor Supply too. And you can get it at Amazon.com as well. The "spray on" bed liner that Rust-OleumŽ sells is actually called "truck bed coating". Rust-OleumŽ does sell a "bed liner kit", it's a two component epoxy/rubber based roll on product & not a spray. I'm not sure how good it is, the spay-on was just more convenient for me.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

New member here,
Not really what I did today but over the last couple days. 2 days ago Started working on my 69 GMC Custom 1500, pulled out the seat and all of the floormats and padding(which is completely shot). Also started to assess the rust floor damage. Last night I pulled the fuel tank sending unit and pickup tube. the float is completely missing, but I did ohm out the sending unit and it does look like it's working. My only other issue is the prefilter on the end of the pickup tube is pretty rotted and split. was also full of good ol black gunk. along with probably 1/4" of sludge in the tank. weekend project is to pull the tank drain it and get ready to run a KBS coatings tank sealer kit through it. I'm pretty new to a lot of this but have been told that I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I've been reading a lot.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Spent yesterday pulling the water pump twice to try to fix a coolant leak, then ran some sealer through it just to make sure. Today put new shocks on all four corners and installed new wipers. Maybe next weekend I'll try working on my 67 instead of my Tahoe.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
