dunno if it would make a difference in the way you did yours, but did you know you can unscrew the metric fitting out of the pump and replace it with a SAE one?

Did not know that. Thanks for the info.

198 brought me some parts so I'll be concentrating on his for a while. I was suppossed to be off next week for vacation, but there's nothing going at work so I'm taking this week off also.

It may be a little late for this, but did you know all it takes to convert the pump over is to change the fitting on the back of the pump..

I officially don't know what it is called, but when I am using a 94 serpentine setup for my 70, and all I had to do was unscrew the large bolt fitting (my yellowish arrow point to it) from the new style pump, and screw in the one from the old style that my 72 pump had. I was able to use the original 70-72 hoses then on mine. If I ever decide to go with the later model box with a quicker ration, then I can swap the plug back and use the later style lines. Sorry I didn't think about it earlier when you were starting on yours. My head has been stuck in computer/network issues at work lately.

I've seen a 70 Chevy with one piece windows. Even the owner wasn't happy. If someone decides to do it, mock it up before paint. That way the area around where the vent glass goes can be repaired to make the appearance flow more. On his you have to push out on the glass as it get close to the top of the track. The glass leans inside, why, I don't know. I would much rather do power windows with the factory stuff.

I tried something new (to me) with putting the impala dash in. It was very trying but well worth it in the end. If you like your idea and have a vision, I'd say go for it. You will learn alot and you can share your experiences with us.

Agreed, and thanks for the support. School is picking up a TON of momentum. We had our first exam and I demolished the grading curve ...making 45 guys fail...
I was in class thinking.... "What would Allan Do?" You'd be proud... lol

In regards to structural automotive applications you are not allowed to repair or weld on Magnesium or Ultra High Strength Steel at all.

The tailor rolled blank is one seamless piece that has a hydraulic roller form it to create thin spots for crumple zones.

Magnesium can catch fire? Am I right? I know VW engine cases are made of it, and will make a very bright camp fire that's hard to put out.

Yes magnesium will burn and the only way to put it out is to eliminate the oxygen from it.
