Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
My plan is first and foremost to get it lowered. Way too tall!!!! I'm trying to decide now which wheel size to go with 18's or 20's, and what way to lower it. I was thinking 2" front and rear, but I may go lower and use 18's Then other than that a 350 engine and little things here and there.

That's a nice color combo. I always liked the two tones in these style of trucks.

That said, here's what I'd do to that fine truck: a few little chrome bolts and washers to fill the spaces left by the headlight housings, switch out the mirrors to black sports, call it done. Nice, nice truck. If it was subtle enough, I might go for a small amount of pinstripe over that orange. Maybe one shade darker than the color that's on her now. I don't really know what I'm gonna do with this '83 (it's also a '74 and a '63)...But a de-chroming has already started. First, I put in the Blazer leather rear seats. Next, I installed 40 Flowmasters and the ceramic coated Headman headers. Today, I did "electrical plumbing" for the Holley FI....Working backwards, as usual!!!!

I agree 100%, and everyone likes to see all the different ideas that each other has. I've been on some boards that really cater to a certain style or idea. This board is so open and embraces new ideas, and old styles alike!

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
I just got my first estimate on painting it...... to change the color to black.... remove all of the trim and molding and smooth the fenders and paint it one solid color..... My buddy is against it though... he likes the classic look....

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
the white is a better colour if it comes to prep .
the gloss black show any blemish in the sheetmetal and prepwork no matter how small the white covers them up a lot better . try to get a quote for the lighter colour i think you be suprized at the pricedifference when it includes the bodywork
