Yes it's your picture.
I Googled "machining rotors for Boss 338 wheels",... and yours came up.
Much faster than looking at every page of this thread.

I'm with mrhino. When you see a set of these on a truck, you know the guy is resourceful.
And brossow is right about the hub of the wheel being thick. My 20x10 rears are so thick the lug nuts are down inside the wheel. (post 1131 on page 46 shows this)

Machine shop, or do it yourself with a grinder. It's not rocket science.

True. But after spending that much money and having wheels that don't bolt on is frustrating.
And there are people that would just return them. I certainly considered it.

HERE is another one with drawings.
I had a very early set of wheels so I had to cut the dust cover and weld it back together.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

OK, with the help from this thread, I got the front wheels on today. A little machining on the rotors and the fronts went on - no problem with the grease caps on the rotors. The rears went on with no spacers. 18x8 with 255/55/18 fronts and 20x10 295/45/20 rears. Might have been able to get a 305 or 315 on the rear but might have needed to mini tub it.
I'm gonna try to post before and after pics that show the effort was worth it.

P.S. I did not put the goofy chrome wheels on...they were on it when I picked it up a few weeks ago and I'm currently in the process of brnging te truck up to standards.

Presumably you've got the latest revision on those rears that has the extra meat on the back of the wheel, hence no need for spacers. Looks great! (And good job ditching those fugly wheels that were on it!)

Nice work on the truck! Major transformation with not only the wheels but also the rear! Love the change on the gate/bumper/trim!!!

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Need some help. A real nube to the forum and I've read this thread from the beginning.

I have a 72 Short Step that I would like to put these wheels on. Although I like the 20" look, I think I want to keep 18's all the way around. So, is this the spec I need for this truck? Currently the truck has not been dropped and not sure if I will drop it.

Front: 18 x 8"
Offset: +2mm, Backspace: 4.5"
AEWC part# 3382-9850-3AA

Rear: 18 x 9.5"
Offset: -5mm, Backspace: 5"
AEWC part# 3382-9950-3A

Looking to feel the wheel wells up a bit and I'm considering 255/18/55 tires all the way around. Does this look right?

Thanks,

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

The front combo will be exactly the same as what I used and my truck has about 3.5" drop in front and they fill the wheelwells. I would go with a little bigger tire in the rear. As for the backspacing, I don't think you can choose - they only have 4.5 on the 18x8 and 5 on the 18x9.5
Be ready to machine your rotors if you have disc brakes as was discussed here.

Thank you.
I was running Federal Tyres. I didnt put a lot of miles on them before selling the truck, but I was very pleased with the tires. They handled great, no road noise and they did very well in the wet. Plus they have a bad ass tread pattern as u can see in the photos. I would certainly buy them again when the time comes again

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Has anyone ordered 20x8.5" Boss 338 wheels in the last few months?

Just wondering if the current part numbers have the 3AA designator, at the end of the part number?
Or if there is a new part number for the "current revision" of these wheels?
