That is a great deal if he does good work, especially if he comes to you. That will let you keep it out of paint prison and you can help him out & learn some tricks too.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
Wow that is quite a detailed build you've got going on there. It took me quite some time to read through it all, but I really like the close attention to detail. This one will be very interesting to see through, I'll be looking forward to following along.
As a fellow Govt. employee I can relate to your promotion issues. Sucks it took them so long, but congrats on finally being given it. |

You're still going to beat me Mike...
How long have our restorations been running so far, almost 5 years? Congrats on the promo! I have a line number for Major but they are way behind so I won't see it until probably 2013

thanks... yeah, it's been five years...
I have a picture of my son and I (he was 1) sitting behind the wheel.. He's in Kindergarten now (6 yrs old!).... Could see a deployment in the next 12-18mo so we'll see what happens next.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
well, still no real progress happening...
I did roll the truck out today and hung the passenger door, just for kicks. My plan was to start it up to lubricate everything but rain came in and I had to push everything back inside. Looks like i'm heading to Alabama for three months, going to move from Blackhawks to Chinooks in prep for a deployment. What does that mean, well it means I won't be building a truck this year or next...that's for sure. I should be able to save some $$$ to come home and hit it though, we'll see.

I hear ya... I think i'm gonna sell the daily driver Ford and save up cash for a 94-96 Impala... who know's... Only one major bill to pay off besides the house so hopefully 20 years of "stupid tax" will be gone soon so I can live a debt free life.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
might start researching the possibility of selling the money pit. It's going to be 2 years before I can focus on this project...
THoughts (besides "dont do it")? 1. Find a buyer for everything 2. find a buyer for chassis and body, then all of the parts? 3. find a buyer for all?

It is only time, two years will be over before you know it. I know you said responses different from don't do it, well I say give it a year or two and then make your decision!

1st----don't do it
![]() 2nd----Aren't your 1 and 3 options the same ![]() 3rd----I'd try to sell it all together first...set a price you want and add 1000 since everyone wants to get a deal so you need room to drop the price ![]() 4th---If you separate you'll get more than all together but it's a LOT of time to deal with parting it out/shipping (if you are even willing) that seems counter-intuitive since time is your issue now....

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
We'll see what happens... totally agree that I won't get the money back out of it. I have nearly EVERYTHING to finish it too... Just some cab metal work and paint and body finishing...
Maybe the wife can write to one of those "overhaulin" type shows while i'm deployed. Let them come scoop it up and get chip foose to put his touch on it!
