Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

the progress is slow as i only work on it once a week for a few hrs. i did finish the fuel delivery dilemma, i did flex lines out of the tank to the regulator hardline out to a fuel filter and out to the fuel rail with a line that is part flex to hardline

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

i also started on the truck wire harness, i wanted to use the same one but it seems to bulky the nature of the design going from firewall to inside of the cab plus it has allot of unnecessary wires since i deleted wipers heater & AC. its just to big for my needs so i will be getting a new one from speedway and will extend if needed and route away from view as much as possible, i will sleeve it with braided expandable loom and hang it with SS cushion clips. Im soldering and heat wrapping the joints.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

It used that speedway kit when I wired my 1950 F1. Easy to use and only ran into one problem with an error in their diagram, which they walked me through.

Got the 12 circuit kit for my k20 since I didn't use half the circuits when I did the F1. Not as happy with the smaller kit as it just doesn't seem as simple to use.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

i mounted the radiator and fan shrouds and a radiator catch tank from moon, i ended up changing my fans and shroud for an aluminum shroud and 2 - 14" fans, with an aluminum replica of the cap. For the radiator mounts i used an aluminum universal kit that i ended up cutting to my needs from Speedway. As for the plumbing from radiator to tank still needs to be done in which case i think i may end up hard lining it

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

so i got the harness and i made an aluminum mount from materials i had laying around, some 1/4 angle with a 1/4 flat bar with some spacers to kik it out. I installed it conveniently on the left side of the column more or less where the original location is. i still need to drill and route the wires to their locations, and i will also be making a 12 source fused block with 12 relays for the pcm and accessories related to swap only, i wont be utilising all 12 but i rather have the option, so the truck wiring will be seperate from the LS swap accessories. I will post more on this later as i am still piecing together this set up.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

so I finally got enough mojo to post an update, don't know how else to word it.
here I am at the exhaust part of it. I got an X pipe and the 10's from flow master, random bends and turbo flanges from amazon and this is what I ended up with.
