Re: off it goes
Maybe better than you can have imagined, but based on the rest of the thread, it turned out just like the rest of us thought it would...CRAZY GOOD!!!

Re: off it goes
we are using the factory headboard that we cut in half and took a section out of, we also reversed the way it bolts together so instead of seeing threads inside the box you'll see a nice button head bolt, these are just for mock up in this pic

Re: off it goes
Are you using that old lumpy cargo light? I figured you'd find one that sits flush.
Are you going to dare drive this thing on the road? I'd be nervous, my self. |

Re: off it goes
Please oh please bring it to some shows in the US. I know I’m not the only one that would love to see this thing in person!

Re: off it goes
I assume you will be using the new side trim from Mar-K?
I know Squarebody Syndicate got some of the first that was produced. They talk pretty highly about the quality.

Re: off it goes
I do have a complete set of NOS side trim still in the GM wrappers that I was going to use, but I have been approached by someone from Mar-K about using their product. I must say from what I have seen and the guy I have been talking to that everything about them is top notch.

Re: off it goes
Truck looks amazing!! There's very few trucks that look "right" with the flush fit glass and yours is one of the few that did it "right"

Re: off it goes
Just finished reading the entire thread and must say fabulous workmanship and excellent eye to/for detail. I know your bed strips are stainless steel, was you able to buy that in 1/2" half round stock or did you have to create it yourself? Is the bed floor also 18 ga, and did you weld it to the cross members?

Re: off it goes
Thanks, I have a stepside and have been thinking of replacing the wood with a metal floor. Did you make the strips that are running length wise on the underneath side of the floor?

Re: off it goes
Thanks for showing us the pictures of the assembly process. Many say that they can't wait to see it done but I can totally wait, ha. There is so much work that will be difficult to see when it is all assembled that I really enjoy seeing the details while being assembled.

Re: off it goes
Back in post #1156 you have a picture of the bed side that looks to be a "mellow yellow" and a picture of the bed floor that looks to be "fawn beige". I know lighting and monitors can affect color, and I know you said you tweaked the paint just wondering which pic is closer to the real color?
