It should be Bendover garage. haha

Thanks for welcoming me fellas.
The jury is still out for what the future holds for this truck. I love them stock with some bigger meats on the corners but nothing too outlandish. It will be my Stock appearing race cars' tow vehicle. I do have a stock hi compression Buick (yeah I'm a Buick man) 340 4 BBL that would be the perfect small block tow engine for it. Right now the 307 runs so well and I want to get the body done first before I do any mechanical upgrades.

This is my current project. I've been lurking around te site for a while and figured this is the best place to post a pic of my heap. I'm thinking about white walls, painted rims, lowered stance and drive. It came with 2 parts trucks and a ton of extra parts. If anyone needs any body parts shot me a pm and maybe we can work something out. Thanks for the inspiration fellas.

Welcome to the board.
I see that this is your first post.

Just wanted to let you know that selling part via "PM sales" is against the rules here.
You also need to be a subscribing member to sell.
(you agreed to all these rules when you registered here)

Look here to subscribe:

This is a great place to BUY and SELL parts.
I've found a ton of rare truck items and met a great bunch of people here.
Not a bunch of scammers or flakes,... like on Craigslist.

Again,... welcome!

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

I guess I should have read the rules when I signed up. I was just trying to help out fellow members who might need some parts since I'm not going to use them. I'll be a subscribed member soon. Thanks for the info.

What's the cheapest and easiest way to lower these trucks. I know you can put jeep springs under a 60-66. I was wondering if there was a similar way doing these.

The most economical way to lower your truck isn't always the best way. You can put Jeep springs or certain GM car coils as well. Unfortunately these springs are to soft a rate and will kill your ability to carry any load as well as give a bouncy ride. Your better off with 1.5" lowering blocks and stock springs, or save a few bucks up and buy lowering springs.

Up front I prefer to use drop spindles with cut coils. You can cut one full coil to net about 2" of drop. Just be sure to keep the heat to a minimum when cutting the spring

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Here is my '63 c20. It has quite a bit of patina and character! Its got the original paint with exception of the spots on the doors(where logos used to be years ago), and where some one spray painted the bottoms of the fenders after attempting to fix them. When I bought it the whole thing was chalky orange. Ive got the main buffing done. Still need to swirl free it and machine glaze it. Far from perfect, but over all its a pretty cool all original truck. v8 4 speed.

Lookin' good J.Cagle! Thanks for sharing. Are you going to leave the gun rack in it? What are your plans for the rest of the truck?

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Hey guys,
Long time builder, first time poster. I don't know why it took me so long to join this website. Anyway this is my most recent project. It's an all original '72 SWB Fleetside with perfect patina. I picked it up from a guy that owned it for a couple months, who bought it from an old man that owned it since 1984. In the glove box is a note book with everything done to it since '84. Every oil change, tire rotation, spark plug, muffler with the date and mileage of each. The only rust through is the passenger rocker panel. It has a 283 (I havent run the #'s yet to confirm) with a 3 on the tree. No pwr brakes or pwr steering, but that will be fixed shortly. I ordered my drop srings and spindles today as well.

I'm turning this into an old shop truck. I've posted a WTB in the parts board for bumpers and moulding and after I find them and throw in a 4psd I should be good to go. This will be my every other daily driver. Haha. It's the most mechanically sound old truck I've ever purchased and I got it for a steal.

Oh yeah! The gun rack will def stay! My '64 has one as well. I plan to get it tunned up and running a lil better than it does now and just drive it the way it is. Ill spend a ton of hours cleaning it, but it'll look good. Under all the layers of dirt the paint is actually still nice in the engine compartment.

Yes it is...great truck. I think the bed cleats and mirror holes add to the character, too.

I know this is a chevy site but had to post a photo of my patina 1950 ford f1 pickup. It does have a small block chevy, th 350 and 10 bolt rear end. Gets it's share of attention anywhere I go.

A guy I work with is always on my case about how Ford is so much better that Chevy. One day I replied " if Ford is so much better why does everyone put a Chevy in them." He had nothing to say.
