Great buy on the walnut. I'm thinking about making my bed wood as well. Did you find a set of dimensions to use for cutting the wood to the right width & shape? My boards are in such bad shape they aren't usable for accurate measurements to reproduce.
here's the bible... thanks

thanks guys...

I need to get it running again since that's been about 2 years, I picked up an oil pump primer so I can get some oil to the top end before it cranks...

I need to get back on the rockers and door fitment I guess... about ready to hire a local body guy to come over. He charges my buddy $25/hour and does good work.

That is a great deal if he does good work, especially if he comes to you. That will let you keep it out of paint prison and you can help him out & learn some tricks too.

Wow that is quite a detailed build you've got going on there. It took me quite some time to read through it all, but I really like the close attention to detail. This one will be very interesting to see through, I'll be looking forward to following along.

As a fellow Govt. employee I can relate to your promotion issues. Sucks it took them so long, but congrats on finally being given it.

You're still going to beat me Mike...
How long have our restorations been running so far, almost 5 years?
Congrats on the promo! I have a line number for Major but they are way behind so I won't see it until probably 2013

I have a picture of my son and I (he was 1) sitting behind the wheel.. He's in Kindergarten now (6 yrs old!)....

Could see a deployment in the next 12-18mo so we'll see what happens next.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

well, still no real progress happening...

I did roll the truck out today and hung the passenger door, just for kicks. My plan was to start it up to lubricate everything but rain came in and I had to push everything back inside.

Looks like i'm heading to Alabama for three months, going to move from Blackhawks to Chinooks in prep for a deployment. What does that mean, well it means I won't be building a truck this year or next...that's for sure. I should be able to save some $$$ to come home and hit it though, we'll see.

GO ARMY... = no ships

Looks like I come back from school right after Carlisle, unless we happen to get out a week early which is doubtful at Ft Rucker.

My dad has a 96 Impala SS. Look for one somebody has done the LSx swap to if you can find one for sale. One of his friends did the swap to his and it is amazing how much difference there is in the cars. More power, better handling and better gas mileage too. Big plus is losing the opticrud and that wonderful LT1 water pump.
