You could google it, I did and this is what I came up with.
NGK is a Japaneese company and in 1966 they established a subsidiary in the USA the actual name is unpronounceable in english and looks like this Nippon Tokusyu Tōgyō Kabushiki-gaisha.
Any progress on the truck today?

Re: 1968

Haha, nice, Brian. That's better than anything I could come up with. They are really good plugs, typically lasting longer than your AC Delco or Champions. They are a direct replacement for the AC Delco plugs recommended for the engine I have, but in that particular plug, the NGK is a lot shorter. They were only 2 or 3 dollars a piece.

Re: 1968

Today I ordered a new set of red tie rod boots. The ones I have are new but they are not the red poly. I wanted the red poly ones. A set of sway bar bushings with brackets. they also are the red poly ones. A Edelbrock intack and carb. a 600 CFM it was a great price from Autozone. cheaper that I could have got off ebay. Wth no shipping charges. A chrome timing chain cover with chrome bolts with all the seals and gaskets. I will pick them up tomorrow at noon. I adjusted the valves today. Mounted the hood. This hood I am not going to keep it. I just wanted something to protect the engine compartment while we do the body work this week end. With all the dust flying around at least it will keep some of the dust out. I am trying to dress up the engine a little. Also thanks I will try those plugs all they had today was a set of staylite I think I am spelling it right

Re: 1968

I don't know what you paid for your intake but there is a company that makes a Edelbrock clone intake that is less expensive called PROCOMP, Vic told me about them here is an Ebay link I think you will like the price, it's $100.00 less expensive than the Edelbrock.
This is their Eliminator series which is an 6500 RPM Airgap design.
PROCOMP Eliminator: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMALL-BLOCK-...-/360716008666
Edelbrock RPM Airgap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Edelbrock-75...64a0a4&vxp=mtr

Their is only a $ 9.00 difference between the two and with edelbrock well they are made here in the great USA and I don't have to pay shipping.
Sometimes it pays to buy a product that has been tested and I know where it came from. But hey I do thank you for the information.

George It may only be $9 difference for the model you bought but I wasn't comparing your model to the PROCOMP, I was comparing the Edelbrock RPM Airgap to the PROCOMP Eliminator only to show the price difference between two like models.

ok I see. The edlebrock was only 149.00 with no shipping. People at Auto Zone is doing me a favor by discounting the parts I use. Love that.

Re: 1968

I would much rather buy an Edelbrock that was made in the USA by an American company than buy a knock off chinese import Pro comp intake. Please do some research and google procomp, read all the negative reviews about their products.

-From an American in the manufacturing industry

Truck is coming along nicely George, keep it up buddy.

I to would rather buy American. It keeps us working. But sometimes A person can't afford the extra money. But in this case it was only a 9.00 difference.

Re: 1968

Today I picked up my tie rod end boots and installed them. Sand blasted a part that I
will be selling on the parts board and painted it up. It came out real nice.

And gentermen let me tell you it was real hot today. At 5.00 at the bank it was 92
Today while it was so hot I ordered a lot of parts from Classic parts a lot of small items that I will be needing in the future. That way when the time comes I want have to wait.

Re: 1968

NGK shorties spark plugs are 6.79 each. 48.00 for a set of 8 guys does that sound right to you. They come from acrose the pond. I guess that is the reason they are so high. Got the mother-in-law cottage all fixed up for my brother-in-law to stay in while he is doing the body work this week end. I am so glad to have it started at last. I am just going to do the front clip and cab this week end. I don't want to kill Ed. with all the work and traveling he has to do.

Re: 1968

Set of 8 for 33 bucks, delivered. I have seen them even cheaper if you look around on ebay or Amazon. I think they are about the same at the local parts houses.

Re: 1968

Well, I started the body work today. I thought I had it new perfect. But boy was I wrong. Ed, he went over my work and found my work not up to par. So as you can see by the pictures he is doing it right.

we still got tomorrow to finish the body work. I like the way it is turning out. He is a pro of finding my mistakes. But I let him be the judge and I will be his labor. We worked untill 6:00 and called it a day. I am glad we had the canophy cause boy was it hot. I had a big fan and still was ringing wet with sweat.
Going to shoot some primer tomorrow on the whole truck. maybe. I still have to block and sand the truck.
I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Did he bring a stud gun and a slide hammer with him to remove dents, dings and low spots or is he just filling everything in with bondo?

Yea he brought a lot of his tools with him. and yes he pulled a lot of the dents out and filled the rest with a skim coat of bondo. It came out real nice. Primed it with rust preventive white primer. I still got to do the box on the back. and block everything and sand again and shoot it with K2 primer. But that is another week end. Guys I am really tired. It was hardner than I thought. But the end results are what I look at.

Also you can see the way I wrapped the engine up before I started to do any on the body work.. A lot of sanding and more sanding and more sanding. Then a good coat of white primer.

Re: 1968

He did a bang of a job. But there is still a little more work to do with the body work. At least now I can see where it has to have work done.
The old hood is making the truck look bad. I guess I will get a hood next.

It looks super slick, that Orange is going to lay down really nice.
Soon it will be time to put on the Superman suit and shoot the Cadillac of paint jobs.
