Don't fill the gap in. It looks good how it is. If you fill the gap in before the rear wheel, it will mess up the flow to the area after the wheel. The steps are perfect how they are. The more crap you add, the more clusterf***ed it becomes.

I agree with the earlier comments about needing something behind the running boards. It needs something, but I'm drawing a blank. Maybe continue the boards back to the wheel opening, or maybe some polished (or painted) big rig fuel tanks. It could definately use an "altitude" adjustment.
