Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Finally tightened the throttle return spring and discovered a fuel leak, fixed it bet that improves my MPG. and it's so cool to have my engine RPMs drop down to it's base idle between shifts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Placed my order with LMC for a new gas tank, sending unit, filler neck grommet, and turn signal lever. Got the jitters pulling the trigger on what has been my biggest expenditure on this truck so far. Went ahead and topped it off with a new fuel pump, hard line, and a few tools to make everything happen. To make things sweeter, I had one of my regular customers donate a pair of HD coil over rear shocks that he had taken off a 72 K20. They should go nicely on Grunt.
Hoping to have almost everything together enough to start driving him to work on a regular basis within the next week or two. Thank goodness I live in a small town, the cops know me, and know that my truck used to be driven by the guy who used to service their cruisers. That should let me drive him around my town without to much trouble.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Upgraded to the best pair of shocks Monroe offered for a smooth ride, did some wiring work. My heater fan wasn't working. Installed a new steering gear box. Hope to have time to drive it some tomorrow, I'm tired and hungry this evening.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
On my 70 CST, removed rear coil springs, replaced trailing arm, pulled and replaced a long bed passenger side, ground off some rust on the frame. Didn't make a ton of progress, but had beautiful weather to work outdoors; very therapeutic.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Finally my pittman arm came in, installed it and took her for a spin, with those new shocks and that new steering gear box it's a new truck, just a sweet old ride. Just what I wanted.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got the new fuel pump in, along with the new alternator bracket, now it moves fuel, and the belt doesn't squeal. Half way through getting the turn signal switch replaced, and still need to get a few other things done. Hopefully tomorrow.

This 'N That
I've been on the road , three State Road Trip , Pops Memorial .
It snowed in Bellingham , Wa. and rained most of the way back to l.A. , I was surely wishing my '69 C/10 was under my butt instead of that old Mercedes S Klasse Sedan . oh well , soon enough I hope . The power brake booster thing : it's a HUGE improvement and cheap to do ~ unless you're towing on a regular basis , you don't need to $pend the $ on disc brakes , yes they're very cool and moderns blah blah blah but m,any here are not wealthy , just go order up a power brake booster and master cylinder for your year of truck and install it ~ you'll be amazed at how well your old drum braked rig now stops and no , drum brakes don't fade after three stops unless the brake drums are paper thin from being turned (Machined) too many times , another thing you're not supposed to do but is easy money so shops always do it and YOU suffer in the long run . New brake drums are cheap , I have no troubles finding them in junk yards , good ones . The seat heaters *must* be run through a relay because the switch contacts on the seat belts are not designed to carry that much current load and they're burn out or worse , get hot and melt things if you run the heater power through them . The C50 Pickup is bad@$$ ! . I wonder what color you're going to paint it , looks like you began with good metal , I'm in awe of your skillset .
