Re: Glock's new project: "Fred" w/ 5.3L LS swap info

I will definitely be taking pictures, we'll see if it's possible or not to get some video. I imagine I'll be in the truck working the go fast pedal. But if he has someone else doing that, I will be sure to get at least one or two pulls. Too many videos fills up my camera pretty fast.

Is that your guestimate? I really don't know what to expect. As long as it doesn't start with a "1", I'll be happy!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred" w/ 5.3L LS swap info

yea a 1 something would ruin my day to the point of playing with matches if you catch my drift.

but seriously my guess will be 268hp to the tire(lol) after all the tuning. its a high number but you have low miles. so we'll see!

when i took the goat i was disapointed in the # after all the work i did but after the tune he felt like a different animal. smoother, more responsive, etc...

The LM7 new was 285 to 295hp, and torque was 325 to 335. I think your guess sounds pretty good.

Keep in mind our wonderful altitude too. We be high all the time here you know. So count my guess at 247.

Bob, it looks like you have enough material for a best seller. Good luck at the dyno.

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred" w/ 5.3L LS swap info

I think we may all be pleasantly suprised. These engines really wake up with the smog garbage off and a performance tune. There is a place here in Raleigh, NC called RPM, it's Ryans performance Machines. They did a tune, cold air, emissions delete, and I think a bigger T.B. and got almost 345 to the tire on a low mile 5.3 Just wishful thinking. Cant wait to see what my 6.0 will put down.

Not bad at all. To the tires too, even more impressive. Reading that, I may be a little low on my guess.
(Of course I would be happy if my truck put 3 digits on the dyno pull. )

Put me down for north of 300 RWHP and north of 335 RWTQ. Been talking a lot with Tommy Higgins. He is a local Mustang tuner who has do a lot of work on and tuned my 95 Mustang GT 347. He said these LS motors wake up with a few minor tweeks to the ECM. He will be tuning my 6.0L and he thinks north of 350 RWHP.

wow... thats alot buddy. a stock ls2/6speed only puts down 340-350rwhp. i hope we see those kind of #'s. but i'm thinking Gerald is probably in the ball park. Bob should start a poll with the winner getting free shipping!

Yea I thought he was high too. But he said that deleting the emissions from the ECM and no CATS was good for an easy 45 RWHP
